If you trust the words of Elliotte Friedman, (and I also believe Dan Rosen as well), Friedman for sure made it known that at some point just prior to the Draft, the Rangers nearly had Kreider dealt to Colorado for their 16th overall pick in the 1st Round. The Avs instead retained that pick to select high skilled center in Alex Newhook, who TSN had ranked as #13 overall in their Final Draft Rankings. Friedman alone also stated back then that, "there would be "a lot of teams" interested in acquiring Kreider either just prior to, or during the Draft," should the Rangers still want to trade him.
That was just a few months after the Avs were initially interested in acquiring Kreider prior to last season's trade deadline. But this latter time, they opted to retain their 16th overall pick, and delay any serious talks with the Rangers, due in part to looking for a trade partner for Barrie, who they later found in the Leafs being willing to deal them Kadri.
So other than with the Avs, Brooks is likely correct in stating that the Rangers only "halfheartedly" tried to deal Kreider, because if they had seriously done so, Kreider would have surely been already dealt, based on Friedman's words alone.

Gonna save people time here. CK20 was almost dealt to the Avs for the 16 pick, ended up not happening cause the Avs got Kadri and traded Barrie. So no new info here. Expect more moves this week.
I criticize what you write cause it’s long winded drivel. The ended up trading for kadri, didn’t say it was draft day you dippoop. I don’t need 3 or 4 paragraphs to say NOTHING NEW. I read Jan’s blog I like his insights yours tell me nothing I didn’t already know. - blueshirts_fan
First, I don't give a darn if you do not read my comments. You are a lowlife, by your word choice you called me in this post of your's.
Reread that post of your's. You stated the Rangers/Avs trade involving Kreider, (in your EXACT following words), "ENDED UP NOT HAPPENING CAUSE THE AVS GOT KADRI AND TRADED BARRIE".
In addition to your horrible English and word choice you ironically somehow criticize SOLELY ME FOR on this site numerous times, and especially most recently. Your "English" used there depicts that the Rangers/Avs trade did not occur, "BECAUSE" YOU ACTUALLY THOUGHT THAT the Avs/Leafs trade of JULY 1ST involving Barrie and Kadri in key, HAD ALREADY OCCURRED prior to the Rangers/Avs near trade of Kreider to the Avs prior to the JUNE 21ST & 22ND Draft.
Furthermore, you have no memory that the Rangers and Avs first attempted to make a trade involving Kreider prior to last season's trade deadline.
That prior sentence is one reason why my comments require more words in order to express additional and precise details IN PROPER WRITTEN ENGLISH AND WORD CHOICE, unlike your's here in first using the word, "CAUSE", instead of the word,"BECAUSE."
Even worse, your overall English word choice there, which everyone EXCEPT FOR YOU would have understood it the way I did, depicts that you thought the Barrie "+" for Kadri "+" trade occurred prior to the Draft, when IN FACT, that was when the Kreider to the Avs trade nearly went down, as per my original post's details.

I see you changed your word describing me as "DIPpoop" to "DIPPOOP", since I made my prior reply to you.
Note to moderators:
Somehow, the original comment that this "blueshirts-fan" member described me as in this comment of his, still shows up as with the word, "DIPSH*T" right on this link, which I am entering this reply to . That was prior to him altering it to the word, "DIPPOOP", which it then somehow shows instead on the comments page.

if Shattenkirk is still here next season.
what exactly does he do? - jimbro83
I still want to try him at LD. Are we really going to trot out Skjei as the top pairing D? Let Shatty try to cause havoc offensively, Trouba is good enough to cover.

I think that's the plan, Trouba and Skjei have been buddies for years, if someone else takes over that spot it's only because Skjei failed

I mean, we could see a home video of the two having a sleepover eating pizza, still doesn't change the fact both of us know that Skjei isn't a top pairing D. I guess ADA is young enough you could try to move him there too. Might not be the worst idea in the world because for two years with Fox, Trouba, and Shatty playing RD that something has to give.

and Tony D
and Hajek, Rykov, Lindgren...
the more and more I go over it, I think the best solution is buying out Shatty

I don't see how we could buy out Smith and Shatty. That dead cap charge next season would be lethal. Someone in the last thread shows the Names buyout. That's a better option IMO. Smith and Names almost makes it work.
