Waiting for Jim's all old timey team.
Replying to MDW, wouldn't put McT on an all time Ranger cap team. He sure was good defensively, but so many better options. |

Depends if you want to use a bunch of money in another spot..
Think he would only cost around 10-15 bucks
Plus he was like the last guy not to wear a helmet. That has to count for something |

You got Staal making 20, really can't get much more bang for you buck with that. So many random Oiler wings making pennies too. |

Also, the other component from Down Goes Brown's column was: "each player you will pick will cost you a salary of $1 per regular season game they ever okayed for your team. If you want a guy who played one full 82-game season, that's $82 of your cap gone." |

No MacTavish? Guy wins the most important faceoff of all time - mdw7413
He was a low cost lowish reward kinda guy. I wanted high end offensive talent. |

Paiment is a solid guy if you were close to the cap and needed a winger. |

I had Sawchuk on my list as a maybe. Jacques Plante possibly as well. On D., Doug Harvey is a maybe. Hard to argue with Eric Staal at 20 and Bure at 51. |

I was considering Harvey. Really wanted Bure but I wanted to have a different team. |

I mean you have to pick Sawchuk right? It's such a slam dunk. It's not even like you can cute and cheap out on the position and get better. He only costs 8. |

I guess if you just want to pick someone else just to change it up, Kirk McLean is good one, 45 career Ranger games |
