Hockey's a business that makes a ton of money. They make all that money because of the players. The players want their fair share and the owners want to underpay everyone because that's how business works. No one is a spoiled brat. Both sides are doing what they should be doing, but the owners have far, far, far, far more power than the players do or ever will. Without owners, there is no league. Without players, there are more players.

Real-life examples don't work when you compare it to sports because none of us are the best in the world at anything at are easily replaceable, but if your employer wasn't willing to offer you what you felt you were worth, would you be a spoiled brat for demanding a fair salary?

I preferred it more when the players weren't multi millionaires.

Ek keeps saying Leafs have some big deadline for Maner. Meanwhile I can't see any reason whatsoever Leafs would be in a rush to sign him. Let the other RFA forwards sign first.

Goddamn I hate the term "fair share". If your business lost a million dollars last year would you pay back your "fair share" of the losses? Of course not. Do we expect Arizona players to reimburse the owner who is bleeding cash? Again, of course not.

You are right that the world of sports isn't really comparable to the real world, but you are delusional if you think it is a bad deal for the players to be walking away with 50% of HRR while taking no risk of losses.
