My only gripe at this point in the offseason:

Do we have to stick with the nickname "breadman"? can't we think of something better than that? it just feels lazy, like no one put in any effort

Love everyone who rips on Fast. Meanwhile on a really good team, as a fourth line winger, you need that type to win.
- airjan23

I just think he’s replaceable. He’s going to want 2+ and I don’t think he’s worth 2+. He’s a 4th liner that plays hard but I think there’s 50 other guys out there that could be just as good in a 4th line role.
Wait, I’ve given this opinion before.....is someone going to melt now?

Fast is a solid player and plays in all situations.

Damn, just realized its been 11 years almost since I've been here and I lurked as a reader for a good year + before that.

Obviously not as active on here at you Brian but I cannot believe it either. Still only met 2 people in real life though. Jan at a Rangers/Thrashers game at MSG many moons ago, and Plastic at the end of a Rancid concert a few years back.

Wait, only 7% of the country knew this? I knew Americans were dumb, but didn't know that 93% didn't know this.

I get the arguments against keeping Fast and they are certainly valid points but I'm not sure I agree. I certainly agree that there is a cost limitation with Fast but I think he provides more than just an interchangeable part.

Fast has won the Players'' Player award for what 3 years in a row? This team is extremely young and will need someone to be a mentor and social glue. It doesn't look like Kreider is going to be around past this season.

I have never looked at points per season as linear. To me it is a curve of increasing difficulty the higher you go. Almost like tax brackets, those higher tiers of points cost more.

I just never subscribed to the idea that you can use a simple flat rate
dollars per point x points = salary formula.

I would not expect to pay the same for a single 120pt player as I would for 2 60pt players.

This is a horrible take. Also Zucc's career high was 61 pts

Lol don't get me started. So at work we have this thing where there is a charity of the month and we get to be casual all month. One month was the USO. Well i fd up and put recurring donation on (every month $10) and i'd feel too much of a jerk if i cancelled it. Anyway, because of this, I get solicitations from just about every military charity. Those guys non stop send me stuff.

Guy makes peanuts and is a solid homegrown NHLer - never understood the level of hate. He is one of our few later rounders who actually stuck.

Ive never complained about his language skills. I Just point out that he is the second highest paid player in the league and never finished higher than 9th in scoring league wide for the season.

Would you take Johnny Gaudreau if he was a UFA on the team for what we paid Panarin ?

I mean since Panarin entered the league he is 8th in the NHL in points. I take his entire career over a single season as a sample
