Not true and totally your opinion. Toews is only as good as the players on his line and was nothing more than a product of Hossa. I read it here so it's a fact. - HawkintheD

And the Hawks seem to have picked up a few first round picks who couldn't make it on other teams. These could be true gems in the long run. - Garn.

They also posted predictions for breakout rookies for the nest few years... Dach wasn't on any of the lists. Stan fails again.

Why is Miami retiring Luongo’s number?
He was there for only 6 seasons - only one playoff series - no Vezina finalist seasons there.... - StLBravesFan
Brandon Pirri is still playing in the league kinda. |

Well sure...you had to go focus on the details now. Omit all that and the statement is 100% fact, as are Taylor’s assertions on Bicks, Toes and any of the other bums he’s factually portrayed. |

And now he's a third line center behind Dach and Strome. |

As the 13th forward. But we need to get rid of alternate captain toxic (Seabs) first. |

What nobody is saying is how much 75 points will cost trying to sign Strome that's a very high number. Higher than Toews usually gets...
- rpeters01
Nobody is saying it because he hasn't scored 75 points in the NHL. It is entirely possible he might not ever hit that level over the course of an 82 game season. The coach might have him focus on his play in his own end and who knows, maybe he slumps and loses some of that cherry PP time and it snowballs into a less offensive season. Maybe Alex Debrincat breaks an ankle and Strome can't click with his buddy. Wait and see how it plays out because a lot of things could happen and him matching his first stint here with the Hawks is not a given. |

You just made my point. Everyone who is defending Bickell as if he was some power forward top 6 great player is being dishonest.
Bickell was a 4th line player , very streaky and he had one great post season that was amazing sure, but Stan and everyone jumped the gun and suddenly thought Bickell was this breakout gem , and as we know the ending he wasn't a elite player, because 2 years later he was traded for 2 reasons cap space and he was expendable because of his numbers.
Would you say darling is a great goalie ? I mean by your thinking his great run makes him elite so darlings outstanding play in 2015 playoff run is why Chicago advanced out of the 1st round.
Or how about handzus - Taylorst1
Not saying he was a top six power forward, but I am saying I’m not sure we win the Cup 2015 without him.

42 wins equals 84 points. Add about 10 for OTL and the total will be 94 points. That would have made the playoffs last year, and is an increase of 10 points for the Hawks from last year.
Looking at last year's 8 Western conference teams that made the playoffs, their GA ranged from 202 (DAL) to 261 (SJS). Throw out SJS and the next worse team among the 7, COL, had 246 GA.
In the East last year, the range was 196 (NYI ) to 251 (TOR). Montreal, who didn't make the playoffs, had 232 GA.
Last season, 16 of 17 teams that had a plus differential in goals for versus goals against made the playoffs. Montreal being the exception.
Last year, the Hawks had 292 GA and 270 GF. Hopefully the Hawks can reduce their GA this season by at least 0.5 per game and bring in down to below 250. If the Hawks sacrifice some offense to play a more defensive game and can score around 255 or 260 goals that should put them in the playoffs. |

I think the Hawks GA will be drastically reduced. Their GF may suffer a bit as a result but they'll have a positive differential. I think the additions of de Haan and Maatta have been understated. While they may not be super stars they are solid verteran d-men who know their role. During the last 2 Cup runs Oduya and Hjalmarsson were just as important as Keith and Seabrook. #4 and #27 certainly were not flashy players but they got the job done.
Note: I am not directly comparing de Haan and Maatta to Hjalmarsson and Oduya, this comment was for illustration purposes only.
Plus, adding Smith and Carpenter should help make the forward group better defensively (and Shaw to a lesser degree).
Lehner is head an shoulders above Ward and Delia. He might even be better than Crawford at this point (as a big #50 fan that takes a lot for me to say).
Sometimes the best moves aren't the biggest most popular moves. |

Who we hatin on today guys??
Also in Tyler's blog , he mentioned that Toews and Kane are ADB and Strome are givens. With the history of Shaw and Saad together having chemistry, I think the third line should be Saad, Shaw and xxx. Need to fill one spot on each of the three lines. - LAHawk
This has kinda been my thinking as well. It's easier to plug in a guy to a line when you already have good chemistry with two-thirds of your line rather than try to get three guys to find chemistry. Really it comes down to who's gonna walk out of camp with the 3C role to start the season, because if Dach takes the role they could walk into the season with three talented lines and tough 4th line to play against. If he doesn't then Shaw might need to take that role for a little while IF the wingers fighting for roles play well. |
