Poile was born in a leap year. So even when he was 22 he was really 12. I think that's what Ek meant. Or perhaps he went on an odyssey in Margate and lost track of time. Ulysses Poile thought he was still 12 but didn't realize 10 years had passed and he was now 22. But he confused Homer (Not Holmgren) stories and started to believe he was in the Iliad. That's why he was running around the Spectrum. Back then the Candiens had a young Guy Lafleer. He was really good. So was a future hall of fame goalie named Kenny Dryen. Not as good as a future Ivan Proorov though.

Yeah but do any of them remember watching Mike Gartner playing hockey in Bern?

leafs fans, mocking habs fans, for bragging about cup wins back in a six team league when it was easy to win a cup..........

- sensarmy_11

How does that compare to fans of a team like, say, Ottawa or Vancouver, who are in cities that have never won any big league pro sports championship, chirping Leafs fans?

So they talk about the 50's and 60's like Hab fans talk about 93? HAHAHA. Ok buddy...

I love people outside Toronto chirping us. We had a championship parade 2 months ago. Go ahead Vancouver, Ottawa, Winnipeg, take your shots. LOL

Ottawa has lots of Stanley cups, happened decades ago.............the sad thing is that your last Stanley cup is closer in terms of years to Ottawa's last cup, than it is to the present day.

that doesn't take away from the irony of a leafs fan calling out habs fans for bragging about cups that happened half a century ago in the original six era, especially considering that's when ALL of your cups occurred......while the Habs have won multiple cups in the post expansion era

why do you keep putting brag in ""? leaf fans throw their cups in peoples faces all the time..........especially to organizations who either don't have any, or who won them under other organizations......and you're one of them.

you can pretend that you don't all you want......it's irrelevant

They don't have "lots" and the NHL was a bush league, at best. In fact, I am not even sure it was the "NHL" for some of those "cups".

Further, I find it incredible that you can see irony in a Leafs fan calling out a Habs fan, but you, as a fan of the Senators, have no problem chirping the Leafs? Are you seriously saying you don't see the irony in that.

You didn't.

You are intentionally missing the point. Don't pretend that the constant trolling of Leafs doesn't encompass the team, the fanbase, the city ...

So it is pretty (frank)ing ironic for ANY city in Canada to chirp anything related to Toronto right now.

I have ...

When they are responding to endless chirping from (frank)ing idiots whose team, and city has never won anything of significance.

I also don't notice Habs fans rubbing anyone's face in it... unless someone starts chirping them.

mine doesn't.....my trolling encompasses only the leafs and their fans. I like the city of Toronto, I cheer for the raptors and jays.

there is zero irony in trolling the leafs........the team and especially the fans puff up their chests like they've been a dynasty the last 20 years, with like 10 cups in that time.....despite the fact that they have been, beyond a shadow of a doubt, one of the least successful on ice teams in the last 2 decades.

do I get that my team has no cups in the modern era.....absolutely I get it....but neither does yours, and the sens have come much closer than the leafs, on a few occasions, since they re-entered the league.

do I care about the cups that Ottawa won, in like the 30's or 40's or whenever they won them.............no, not even a little bit, because it happened DECADES before I was born.........just like all the cups the leafs won were likely decades, or at least years before you were born........so who gives a poop. since Ottawa has re-entered the league, and you and I have been watching hockey, the sens have been BY FAR the more successful team on the ice.....and you can't dispute it. by all means, bring up some playoff victories over Ottawa...it's really all you've got.

so, enjoy the raptors win, I know I did (I was at the parade)......it has ZERO IMPACT on the leafs

I was actually alive (albeit only 3) when they last won.

Yeah the Sens were WAY more successful ... except of course for all the times they met in the playoffs and the Leafs won, but, yeah, I can't dispute it

Senators fans chirping

yeah, the leafs won, and then did nothing else.....in that same time, the sens have been to the cup once, the conf finals 3 times, have a bunch of division titles and the president's cup once or twice......it's not a Stanley cup, but it's certainly more than the leafs have in that time span, and infinitely better than having nothing but bragging about a few first and second round victories.

leafs fans chirping

I mean, using your logic, Ottawa handily won the head to head match up against the leafs last year........must mean we were a better team....... leaf fans logic

Yeah regular-season definitely is the same as playoffs. Almost wins from years ago are definitely something to chirp about.

You are doing the same thing SpazzD'oops did for years, hand-picking a few key things in which the Sens come out ahead and ignoring virtually everything else of significance.

.. and chirping, when your team is easily the biggest joke in the league.

enlighten me, what else "of significance" have the leafs come ahead of the sens...on the ice.....since Ottawa has come back into the league?

obviously off the ice, the leafs are a much richer team.......that's never going to change

other than those early round victories against Ottawa, the leafs literally have NOTHING......
