I remember that like it was yesterday. My first dial up provider was Islandnet. I used to get 60 minutes of internet per day for like $60/month, using Netscape. If you were downloading something that didn’t finish in an hour...
- 1970vintage

It was 2006 before I dropped dial up and since then I've been using a 3G followed by a 4G stick. Expensive but awesome for a person always on the move. Unfortunately they moved the tower and I dont get a signal at the house.

When I was an internet rookie, I accidentally downloaded a porn dial up connection without knowing. It logged onto a 1-900 number at $4.99 per minute. It was on for 45 min before I noticed it. Phone company laughed out loud at me.

momma tomato, poppa tomato and baby tomato are walking down the street. Baby tomato is lagging behind and poppa tomato turns and squishes him, saying “catch up”, Ketchup...

Could you imagine how many beatings those 4 would get!? No wonder they stay online in their mom's basements.

What do you make of the new changes to the team this summer?

I like the changes. It means poop if Markstrom doesnt repeat. I'm 50/50 on that...

We aren’t the deepest talented team that can survive without good goaltending. Marky/Demko combo is solid enough.

Guddy/Hutton/Pouliot/MDZ out helps on so many levels. Less pressure on Edler & Tanev to eat the hard minutes. Better break outs to ease the load. Etc etc

Not saying we are scaring anyone but i will say lots of dead weight or filler type players are gone & replaced with legit skill.

Sutter & Baertschi & Stecher 10m
for
Ristolainen & Sobotka 8.4m

Cap wise it works for the Sabres & they gain much needed depth. A vet C to help on D & the PK. LW scoring in Sven. Affordable RHD to play up & down the pairings.

Canucks free up the roster logjam & gain 1.6m cap space immediately & 4.6m for 2020. Risto won't be needed to be overplayed & better off for it helping out scoring. Sobotka is serviceable for his last contract year on the bottom 6.

Tbh i'm not sure if i want this trade thinking the Sabres get a pretty good return. Long term & cap space is my motive. Goldy has an open spot for a show me year.

Miller Petey Brock
Pearson Bo Ferland
Goldobin Gaudette JV
Sobotka Beagle Leivo
Motte LE

Edler Risto
Hughes Myers
Benn Tanev
(OJ Benn)
Fantenburg

Shop Tanev & also load manage him til the right deal is found. Then call up OJ once healthy

Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by abnormal behavior, strange speech, and a decreased ability to understand reality. Other symptoms may include false beliefs, unclear or confused thinking, hearing voices that do not exist, reduced social engagement and emotional expression, and lack of motivation.

I think we've figured out what's wrong with Marwood.

Tanev and Beagle for Risto and Johan Larsson.

7.4 going to Buffalo and 6.9 coming back to Vancouver.

Vancouver has to throw in a prospect so they toss in Will Lockwood.

A lot of internet scouts are very high on Vitali Kravtsov.

Steve K has him ranked ahead of Hughes.

Has Podkolzin at 15 though

He's got Fox way too high on the list.

Don't know how Necas who put up 52 points in 64 games in the AHL last season is below some of these other guys.

The love for Dorofeyev at 34 is mind boggling.

A lot of these rankings have a lot of East Coast bias. I don't put much stock into them. I like Hughes and I like V-Pod so that is what matters to me. I read them and move on and wait for the next ranking tomorrow.

Steve is a Rangers fan. That would probably explain the Ranger bias.

I like to analyze them to see the short comings.

I'll put my own rankings out tomorrow for you to read and move on.

I still like his rankings a lot better than just about anyone else.

@canucksplace
While the idea in principle of giving up a 1st for this team is still not really acceptable, we have to emphasize the fact that Julien BriseBois took a gamble on that 1st becoming a player even as good as Miller, let alone better.

And yes, they were forced into that move.

Believe it or not the thing that pissed me off initially for that trade was adding the third.

I did expect the Canucks to trade their 2020 first but I thought it would be for a bigger return. Then when they added the third it pissed me off.

I am still not a fan of the trade but if Miller scores 20 and adds some toughness then I will forgive Jim.

I still have no problem with the trade unless Miller tanks and the Canucks end of up pulling a Senator and somehow regress horribly.

Andrew Shaw cost Chicago a 2nd and 3rd. 2 years older and 4 more points in 70 more games in his career over Miller.

Burakovsky cost the Avs 2nd and 3rd. Christ he had 25 points last season.

If Miller puts up 50 points and Canucks lose in the first round. I'll still be fine with the trade.

Even better would have been next year's 2nd and this year's 3rd. Which I think a shrewd GM could have managed.
