The C is more for the media and fans. I don’t think it changes much for the team.

A letter doesn’t change the leadership that has developed over the years.

But it seems JT is the best with the media, he never seems angry towards them. He’s been the one player who’s been actually talking about marner this summer.

I’d say JT with a close second to Matthews.

Today's Leafs prospect is Iwill Nevermakethenhlov. He's 5 foot 1 and weighs 114 pounds and he's currently tearing it up in the Blind Russian Tier 3 league in Northern Siberia. He once scored 3 goals on a yak so he has goal scorers hands. He's slated to join the Leafs in 2030 right after his Ruski balls drop.

Has to be Matthews, as good as Rielly and Tavares are, Matthews is the franchise player. If they feel he’s not ready yet then don’t give it to anybody.

AM sweats too much due to nervousness (eg. NHL All Star show) so likely would not be comfortable in lead media role. Prefer AM focus on his game.

Tavares would be an okay 2nd choice.

I did read a scouting report that says he is too hard on himself and that his shot needs improvement, because he uses a 100 flex stiff shaft.

(he is based in Richmond Hill big into sports medicine) He told me the one thing that IS true about all that we have heard, is that Paul Marner is way out to lunch. Its not Mathews money he is after, its McDavid money. This goes back to JR days feeling his kid was way better then McJesus.

Mitch actually is sweating to sign, he doesnt want to go anywhere, but his dad is driving the bus here. Mitch doesnt want to piss off the old man cause of all the "sacrifices" he made with money and time driving to rink etc. I get and respect that. Mitch was raised right....but at the same time dad needs to eff off, you'll be getting taken care of either way. Thats why there havent been any signed offer sheets. What GM is gonna pay him even Mathews money let alone McDavid money.

Aparently there is a huge endorsments deal worth 10 million alone for when Mitch puts pen to paper on his contract with the leafs. Still not good enough for Dad

No that is someone else. That person actually played with Shanny back in the day. He just turned fifty and his wife showed me a video message from Shanny in the office in front of the huge Maple Leaf symbol wishing him a happy 50th. It was actually pretty cool hearing Shanny even saying his name in the message, made it seem more "real" (not that I doubted them). It was also his wife who is a massage therapist and one of her clients is Tavares Dad.

Feel bad for the guy he was aparently really good but was just way to short to make the NHL back then.
