One year for Ho-Sang. I guess it's put up or become someone else's problem. I'm still rooting for the kid.

Glad Islanders stayed the steady course believing in the future draft picks. With Belmont Park on the horizon and dedicated ownership in Scott Malkin and Jon Ledecky the future looks very bright 😎

Hope Ho Sang gets a decent chance to play in the NHL. He was a heck of a Junior.

Say what you all want but ho sangs skill has gotten him another 1 year deal, if the isles didn't think he was worth it he'd be long gone . I'm not holding my breath but maybe he wakes up

At this point I’m more interested in MDC. He’s improved every year and is ready to be a cog in the wheel. I think it’s also telling that MDC got a one way and JHS got a 2 way deal.

Agreed, and there is no way Ho sang clears waivers. So maybe he gets the first 10-20 games in and they make a decision......

This is his final shot (Ho Sang). I don’t think Lou would have ever drafted him so i think he’s got one foot out the door. The talent is there but every year it’s something else. He can’t get out of his own way

I think you’re gonna see a trade a month into the season and Ho Sang will Be part of it.

Ho Sang is a bust. I said it before the draft that the guy was nothing special. He isnt a guy that has a big offensive or defensive upside. He is your typical run of the mill career ahl player.

He certainly doesn't have much defensive value and probably won't ever be a star player, but there's still plenty of offensive potential there. His first taste of NHL he posted 12pts in 22 games and struggled in a small sample of 10 games last year when he got stuffed into a defensive system that is pretty much the polar opposite of the way he plays.

I lean towards him not panning out as well, but I don't think it will be because he doesn't have the skill to play in the NHL. His issue is between his ears and if he can't figure it out soon then I suspect he'll probably be shipped out in the next 12 months.

I expect he needs a new start. I wish he had signed up for the summer with Gary Roberts or Matt Nichol for a mind and body reset. Tough love treatment doesn't work on everyone.

He definitely needs a new start, but I’d imagine it will be more of the same. I do however think it’s a maturity thing and as such could improve with age, i just don’t think he’s a Lou Lam kinda guy

I think he'll be given a fair shot, I can't fathom that anyone in the organization wants him to fail but with Wahlstrom likely beating down the door behind him in short order I would say he's probably got this year to either prove that he can be the player the organization needs him to be...otherwise he'll be a reclamation project for someone else.

Ho Sang has the skill set to be a very good NHL top 6 forward. He has vision, speed, and makes some incredible passes and plays. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the guidance or the brain to "buy-in" to a Trotz like system. those of you who still bring up him over sleeping 4 years ago or bring up the fake story last year make me laugh.

He is a dopey kid with a dopey Dad that follows him around with an entourage of his idiot friends. He is not a bad kid, not a kid who drinks, doesn't do drugs, or is caught out in clubs till 2 am. He's never had a DUI, or a claim of acting inappropriately with a woman. He is just not responding to what the coaches are asking of him both on and off the ice as far as commitment to their system and dedication. .....

I hope he grows up this year and finally sticks on the team b/c I truly believe he could be special if he ever "got it" .... but the first thing he needs to do is tell his Dad to stay home and stop eating big mac's and playing video games. .... Grow up and show up.

Like most of you at this point I feel the odds are stacked heavily against him making it in the NHL. ... but man having him on this team with his speed added to a top 6 already with Barzal, Beauv, and Eberle is a match up nightmare speed wise..

I don't think he's slow, but I also don't think he's going to blow by anyone either.

Few 22 yo players are naturally a Lou Lam kinda guy.

Lou is also not the type to keep an open mind vs you will fit into my regime or else.

Doubt he clears waivers.

There are definitely teams that could use some offensive help so lets see what happens in October.
