Is Tyler Parsons still projected as a starting goalie for the Flames in a near future or no ?

In their 5 year forecast, The Hockey News had Rittich and Wolf as 1-2 punch…

I thought Parsons was seen as their future #1.

Both Parsons and Gilles have been pretty much trash from the day they were drafted.

In fairness, both have struggled at the pro level. Both were very good/elite in the OHL and College ranks following their draft year

The Wolf one seems like a stretch - hard to pin down any goalies in this league. Though Sogaard was gonna be their reach this year, big athletic guy. Goalies, for the most part, need to age a bit before you can really judge them.

The Flames are still pretty high on him, but goalies are always a crapshoot. Parsons is only 21 years old and most goalies don't fully develop until age 24-25. He's still a few years away and he still has time to develop.

As for the Wolf thing, he could turn out to be a steal, but the kid was literally just drafted. We haven't seen him play a second of professional hockey yet and he's a goalie. We have no idea what we have in him yet. He could be great, he could be terrible, who knows? That's the nature of goalie prospects in general.
