The Wild obviously have some issues but they have all their draft picks except a 3rd rounder this year. They have about $9.5M in cap space with two RFAs to sign. The roster will be challenging to change and they need to pick a direction. |

Good luck to Guerin. Glad he got the gig. Pens will be fine. Still waiting for something big. It will happen. |

Plot twist: GMJR and Guerin have a handshake deal that involves JJ going to the Wild... - MattStrat
Would you be surprised if the first thing he does is get a body or two from Pittsburgh he trusts to be part of a new core? Seems like something a new GM would do. |

The Owner, Leopold is hell bent on competing
Guerin will be in "win-now" mode even though he should be in "firesale" mode
Should be interesting

I wouldn't be surprised at all. I'd say he wants Rust. |

In case there was any doubt to begin with, Jarry has 0% chance of clearing waivers now. |

I think Rust is a big target, so are some of the top prospects. It will be interesting to see what can be done. |

Rask is not good (at least he wasnt with them). I wouldn't be comfortable giving up Rust and a 1st for that. I was thinking more along the line of Rust and Jack Johnson for Jonas Brodin. I think Billy G is too smart to give up Zucker, but might go for the bruiser D and the speedy winger for Brodin. |

That's complete douche. Ray Shero's job is to poach what he can from you guys. You need to get some control here.... |

I recall reading an interview with Guerin a year or so ago in which he made it pretty clear he wasn’t an “analytics guy.” I believe it was in The Athletic, which I no longer subscribe to, or I’d link to it.
From that day forward, I dreaded the prospect of Billy G becoming Pens GM. Good Luck, but I don’t think he was part of the solution. |

The Wild have a good coach, decent goaltending, a good D unit when healthy (losing Dumba last season was obviously huge - he’s awesome), and their top 6 forwards consist of Parise, Zucc, Zucker, Staal, Fiala, Koivu while also having Donato, Ek and Greenway. They’ll likely be in the thick of it most games if they can stay healthy |

My position on WBS hasn’t changed. That team had a ton of turnover from players graduating onto the Penguins or other NHL clubs at every position. The list of top players being traded or given NHL looks with other teams was absolutely extensive |

Ryan Wilson: Bill Guerin has his hands full in Minnesota
Bill Guerin has his hands full in Minnesota - Ryan_Wilson
He has a few contracts that he is stuck with, but the players are still good (parise, suter, zuccerello). Those contracts will likely remain, but also keep them somewhat competitive. If I am Billy, I am moving my most desired contracts. Brodin, Suprgeon, Zucker should all fetch great returns! I think they could each fetch a 1st rd selection, while freeing up 14.825M AAV, and the potential to resign Spurgeon in the offseason. But without freeing up cap space and acquiring those high draft picks, this team is stuck. So get on the phone Bill |

Can confirm via source, Peter Chiarelli was a finalist for the #Wild GM position. |

Eriksson Ek just signed for under $1.5MM a year for 2 years. I like it. I think he’s got some room to grow
I’ll disagree on selling off players though. Can you really rebuild when you have 6 more years out of Parise and Suter? Seems too early for me. It’s too bad they traded Granlund IMO and obviously losing Nieds sucked
Last year they were 7 points behind COL despite getting half a season from Koivu and a third of the season from Dumba. I think Dubnyk bounces back a bit
I don’t think there would be a huge market for Spurgeon right now, it’ll likely grow as the season goes on and someone will pay a premium. For now I think they sign Fiala, stand pat, and see what offers come in |

haha. My buddies in Minnesota were ready to burn down the spoonbridge and cherry just because he was allowed to interview.
The fact that he even got a sniff with a team proves there's dumb people in the game. |

Outside of Dumba, there isn't much on that roster that I'd be interested in bringing over to the Pens - and I don't see that one happening...
No trades with the wild in the foreseeable future - none that we would win anyway! Unless it's JJ of a 7th round pick. |
