Stromeo would be just what we need right about now, buuut... an extreme lack of foresight and a healthy misunderstanding of the nuances of the game strikes again

McDavid
Draisaitl
Strome

That would've been an all-around solid C corps going into the future- it's death by diminishing-value 1-for-1s.

To Edmonton:

Brandon Sutter: an ideal third line defensively minded center from Alberta

To Vancouver:

Darnell Nurse

Such a deal!

I don't see Nuge sticking around long term. If we still had Strome, I would've supported trading him now while at peak value for a talented young winger to play with Drai. Like Ehlers. Then try McDavid with Neal or sign Maroon again:

Benson- McD- Neal
Ehlers- Draisaitl- Kassian
Khaira- Strome- Marody/Nygard

Still far from perfect and not a substantial step up on what we've got now, but it would likely facilitate the 2 outscoring lines and one pull-even line.

Whether it be a scoring winger, a quality 3c or a defender, if they don’t add a significant fairly high end player, this team is missing the playoffs again

Hey boys......just wondering what the odds of Raph Lavoie making the team as a rookie are?

I'm assuming pretty slim.....but thought I'd ask. He's my kids favorite player for the Halifax Mooseheads, and he was upset when Raph wasn't playing in their game last night.

He seems like a bit of a project to me, but a number of prospect commentators seem to suggest that he's one of the types that'll surprise with how early he makes it compared to his draft position. Kinda like a Saad sort of situation; big-bodied, highly ranked guy going into the year drops to the 2nd round. If he can be even close to as good as Saad has been as early as Saad was, that pick will be a huge win!

As to your question, I'd assume one more year in Halifax and then battling for a spot next year.

Really like the Lavoie pick for you guys. Figure he could be a solid top six player.

I can’t argue that....it won’t help now obviously but I think he is going to be a good one in the future
