Ben Shelley: SHORT READ: Islanders re-sign Anthony Beauvillier
- Ben Shelley

Great price on a guy who nearly broke the 20 goal barrier. But of all the long term contracts handed out, the 22 year old only gets 2 years? Now its time to be cautions after inking a dozen guys into their mid 30's. Lou was a legend, but I am questioning his decisions these days.

Isles are the first team to give a young RFA a 2 yr bridge deal coming out of their ELC ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Inconsistent young player. Been sent to the AHL two times in the last two seasons I believe to find his game. This guy is mocking Lou for us not locking him up long term. His posts sure are consistent. A helluva lot more consistent then Beauvillier.

Oh and yeah the whole bridge deal thing... Stupid Lameriello should signed him for eight years seventy million. MORON

Beauvillier still has a lot to prove. Now he has 2 years to prove it. A good signing at a good $ amount. If he becomes the star he was expected to be, then in 2 years, he'll be rewarded.

7 of Beauvillier's 48 career goals have been against the Rangers

I believe that's 15% of them if I am using that common core math correctly

I like the contract.. Tito in my opinion should not have played that first season. He should have been sent down to juniors for another year like Barzal. So I kinda feel like the 17/18 season was his Rookie year. Scored 21 that year and 18 last year in his sophmore slump. As you guys have noted he has been inconsistent at times but I love his effort and for a kid that young to be scoring 20 a season I am expecting him to continue to improve under Trotz and crew. .... and he can friggin fly which is always nice.

Islanders still get another three RFA years when this new deal expires. That's team control and that certainly goes in the team's favor.

Agreed, eichiefs. This was a fine signing. The Isles have options at the end, and 2.1 wonโ€™t break the bank

Thats true. And I think they got B on the cheap too. Having those RFA contract rights in 2 seasons is good insurance. Now send Leddy our way please! A mobile LD is just what we need.

Probably won't be any major in-division trades. Even if that weren't the case, I don't see the Devils realistically moving anything the Islanders would be interested in.

Hughes plus would get it done for me at least. Maybe they throw in a 2nd to sweeten the pot a bit. That should do it.

Would be great to sign Beauvillier when he starts playing good for 15-20 games. Probably be a โ€œpart timeโ€ status so he should still get health benefits.

I would like to see some "paid only when you played well contracts". Of course the staff would determine what games were played well and what games were shat.
This seems to be the wave of the future.

(frank) that, this is a small-market team. 1099 him and save on having to pay benefits

I would like to see it also. Performance paid contracts. You donโ€™t play good you donโ€™t get paid. Ladd would suddenly make a miracle recovery, guaranteed ๐Ÿ˜‚
