Is there a good change of scenery trade anyone can think of... Jesse P in Edmonton, for example? |

Do you even watch hockey? In a related story, the Penguins are considering playing Sidney Crosby "up the middle" as well. |

Where does this leave Provorov?
With a lot less of an asking price. He has yet to prove he's better than Werenski. They have to bridge him...
None of this Yotes/Clayton Keller "we think you'll get better...so here's a huge contract" BS. |

to other fans awaiting their RFA defensman to sign, you're welcome - Alexzanki
I don't know what the Flyers are going to get for Proorov, but I am definitely keeping an eye on the Hans.

They don't have to bridge him. Now, if he signs for 3 years then yes, the market has been set. |

they think Provorov is worth more than Zach, true story. |

read somewhere that Dubas is trying to negotiate similar terms for Marner - that is 3yr bridge with a high cap hit in the final year. I would be ok with a 3yr $27M contract where he gets $11M in the last year. Both sides get something in this deal. Leafs get some cap relief for 3 years and Marner is still RFA. Marner get arbitration rights for his next deal with a qualifying offer 2022 in that is in the Matthews/Tavares sphere. |

This shouldn't be legal according to the CBA, as there is more than a 35% variance in year to year (as pointed out by somebody - not me - in LeBrun's twitter feed).
Edit: apparently front-loaded contracts are different than back-loaded contracts, this should be fine.
Nothing to see here.
Please leave the area in an orderly fashion. |
