I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but signing Ceci for 4.5 and watching Gardiner walk for 4.0 can be filed under "things that make you go hmmmm"

Only things that make sense to me, Leafs are already LHD heavy, and need a RHD.
and they see something they can do with Ceci? maybe he is not horrible.

Based on Werenski, I dont see how Mitchy gets more than 8 over 3 years.

He was RFA. They needed a RHD warm body to take zaitsevs spot also. Because Ceci has to have more potential than Justin Holl in your top 4.

I guess he feels Babs can maybe get something out of him that reminds everyone of why he was drafted in the 1st round?

They don't want to commit to Gards, they have no term commitment to Ceci. I don't know, they don't love Gards that much.

I dont get that feeling at all from Dubas, thats what you get from a Burke as GM.
Dubas doesnt think he has all the answers, you are just making stuff up again.

Keeping Ceci could be a mistake, we will see. but its not one they cant get out from. its only 1 season
