When all's said and done come October, the organization may think it's best that a young player like Jokiharju play big, meaningful minutes in Rochester instead of a diminished role in Buffalo. It's something training camp will help sort out.

it seems as if the organization is leaning towards one more year for him in junior. "I just think it's a big jump for an 18 yr. old to step into the National Hockey League and really contribute," said Sabers general manager Jason Botterill to the gathered media at the close of the tournament yesterday. "But we'll certainly give him and opportunity over the next couple of weeks here and see what materializes."

Womp womp

So roster surgery out:
Pominville

Roster surgery in:
Vesey, Olofsson, Miller and Mojo

Only needed local anesthesia for that

I still don't get the pommer-love...Harrington asked botts two questions about him yesterday...

can't we just move on from him--the last vestige of LaCore?

He's a pro's pro

But yeah, it's clearly over. Though, if there are key injuries down the stretch, and they're in the hunt, well... he lives here

Harrington on Twitter won't let go of the fact Pommer was the Sabres 4th top goal scorer and how could they bring back Girgs, Larsson and Sobotka and not him!!

I agree move on from the has been who starts out on fire and fizzles for most of the season. It should be over with Pomms. Sometimes you just have to say goodbye and let go and this is it.

“Forward Andre Oglevie and defenseman look like they'll be carrying some heavy weight in Rochester while defensemen Jacob Bryson and Casey Fitzgerald look primed to compete for bigger minutes with the Amerks in their first pro seasons.”

What d are you talking about with Oglevie? Or am I just illiterate?

Speaking of Harrington... looks like Risto watch is over

"I know that it's going to be fun to work with a player with that skill and ability," Krueger said. "I have nothing but excitement for working with him. I know there's a lot of potential there that's still untapped. It's up to me and the coaches to find out what that is."

General Manager Jason Botterill continues to be cryptic when asked about Ristolainen.

"Our conversations with him have been positive," Botterill said Monday. "I think 'Risto' has always been someone who comes to camp in extremely good shape and I think there's a good deal of adjustment for all of our players with a new head coach trying to put together exactly what coaches want, what they want from a systems standpoint and where they fit in with the group. I'm sure those conversations will go on with Risto and the entire team."

You can never trust a GM or coach see Shady McCoy. Not sure it will happen this week or month but words from GM's about players can be useless.

Yeah, having listened/read those comments yesterday, there was nothing that was said that made me think the book is closed on the Ristolainen saga.

I don't think Harrington's the type to "say goodbye and let go" in this situation

they should...

imo, they'll be loaded as the logjam in buffalo will be sending/keeping a lot of quality in Rochester

Nope, I disagree.
Tage needs to redefine his game and find his inner-toughness to become a beast on the wall and drive the net hard. Physicality should be his calling card.
His game doesn't need finishing touches, it needs to be completely re-engineered.
regarding casey and tage

this needs to be pointed out

If he wanted to keep pommer, it would have been easy

let girgens, or lockport larry walk

clearly pommer is laying low in case the team has injuries and the team is in a position for the playoffs
