i would love to see JT with the C! His resume and his demeanor, i think is the calming and "jump on my back" force that would be taken to heart on that team. The guy is pure class and when hes on beast mode; (frank) yea!

Matthews, while he is a godly talent, his ego, the fact he isnt from tdot and the need for him to not flounder come playoff is why id keep him focused with an A. I dont think he can shoulder the pressure, just the way i read him. he is a "me" kind of dude, they all are, but some show it better and worse then others. his "me" side isnt all that flattering. The leafs have a nice future; why not matthews the super star pure scorer insulated by marners worldy vision and hands, an A too; and tavares, his all round presence, has been through olympic pressure and been around for a while in the league leading the show. JT shouldering the weight of leading the leafs to their first cup in 50+ years, seem way more plausible and realistic vs the other scenario. Perhaps a comparable could be like the toews/kane effect had on chicago.
