He was very good. Got a little cute a few times with plays that often worked for him in the OHL but didn't work tonight. He'll learn. Set up at least 4 scoring chances. Won the majority of his draws. Couple of nice defensive plays, including one near the buzzer. Stole a puck in OT and was dragged down (should have been a power play). Had goalie dead to rights in shootout but hit inside of the post.

What, pray tell, was there to be "disappointed" about? That he didn't get 3 points like last year? Played overall a good game tonight.

The fact that German Rubtsov was much better in all three zones with lesser linemates, while returning from a rough injury riddled season. Anything else you’d like to challenge me on, big guy?

Sheesh. Have you ever become a regular at a restaurant or a bar and ownership goes out of his/her way to belittle you? You should get into management, Bill. It’s just sports talk.

I know it's just a rookie game, but the Flyers are going to have a tough call to make for that open forward spot. Which don't get me wrong, is a good problem to have.

Flyers fans yesterday "one game doesn't mean anything" Flyers fans today "so and so is making the team, I'm sure of it / or so and so is no where near ready"

SuperSchennBros are you ok man?
Your interpretation of Bill's tone/intent seems way off.
Best wishes with whatever's got you feeling/acting this way.

You're entitled to your own opinion but you're not entitled to your own facts. Bill just pointed out the facts of Frost's night: the scoring chances, the multiple posts, etc.

Bill's a pretty even-keeled dude -- if he lays the smack down on you, you probably deserved it.

Not "going out of my way" to belittle you. Just asking what there was to be "very disappointed about" from Frost. He played well overall last night -- not a perfect game, by any means, but made numerous good plays -- and it's only a one-game sample regardless.

Rubtsov played a strong game. Has nothing to do with Frost, though.

Myers shouldn't have even been in there; he was just too good.

Thought that Zamula, Farabee, and Rubstov stood out the most otherwise. Sandstrom looked great, Ustimenko was shaky early.

But if you want to make any declarations about players being better/NHL ready based on 1 game against another team's rookies, just remember the 2017 rookie game where Sanheim looked lost in the woods and then made the opening night roster.

PHI and RFA D Ivan Provorov working hard today to try to finalize a contract. Three and six year deals both still on the table. Talks continue.

Mckenzie is saying that both parties are working hard today to get Provy's deal done and that 3 and 6 yr deals are on the table.

I know it was a rookie game, but did anyone else want to see that guy Murray and the other kid, Torcuott (sp?) get laid out?

From the sounds of things the high end prospects really had a nice showing. I can't wait to watch a preseason game with some of these guys sprinkled in. It's nice to have some more talent arriving and hopefully training camp really will be an open competition where the best players make the club.

Blow a 2 goal lead into the 3rd period and lose in the shootout. These guys will fit right in.
