Flyers could be an interesting trading partner......
- bennythehat

I don’t see it, they have no cap space so the dollars would have to even out. I would have no interest in Voracek so the only and players that makes the money work would be Sanheim and Konectny. Not sure jets do that or if they even ask for more?

Hall doesn’t play Center? Or did he start and I missed that?

Man, I got ripped for suggesting Bogo for Hall at the time, Winnipeg loved Bogo back then

- Ross77

Brain frt . Yes LW...although he played center for the Oilers for a while and really seems to play more like a center than most LW'ers.

Wondering if something like Sanheim, Patrick, J. Braun, and 1st for Laine, L. Stanley, and a 3rd mike sense for the two sides? Braun is only signed for one year and then a UFA but would plug a hole for now, and we would be left with the other two plus a 1st. Or maybe Konecny like you say?

Jets would get a young RH improving d-man and a possible eventual #1 or #2 C and a high draft choice.

Philly would get enough cap space to re-sign their sniper Laine, have a young d-man and a lower draft selection.

Why do people keep thinking Sanheim shoots right???

And I would not put him in any deal involving Laine. I understand you have to give to get, but that's a solid no.

Yea re Sanheim, did confuse him as a RH shot (probably thinking of R Pulock of the Isles who I also covet). But would still take him.

Any suggestions who you think the Flyers might give up to get Laine (someone not named The Ghost)? He could play with Hayes. Or maybe you have no interest?

Philippe Myers available?

Will be interesting to see how the Copp-Lowry-Roslovic line make out tonight. Could it be a regular season line?

And how will our less-than-veteran D make out against a Blues squad? Actually the ones I'll be watching are Pionk (hopefully better than 1st game), Heinola, and I haven't given up on Nelson Nogier - so we'll watch with interest.

Maybe some cuts after this game?

Any more word on Buff? I think the Jets know right now if Buff is retiring or not. Just not saying!

It definitely would not have been me. I was never high on Bogo. Interestingly people on here were calling him the next Pronger.

I love doing trades

To PHI: Patrik Laine, Adam Lowry

To WPG: Sean Couturier, Ivan Provorov, 2020 second round pick

That would be my dream trade!

I can admit Stanly has improved, I’m not saying he’s ready for a role on the Jets this season but he’s better.

On the other hand, someone has to start getting in Maurice’s head now that Bourque and Letestu are NOT NHL’ers anymore!!!!

Hopefully Hellebuyck can play at the NHL level this year, so far he looks like ECHL calibre.

Edit: I mean SEMHL, not ECHL. Pew, he stinks.

Maybe you mean KHL or Swedish League Tier 2...... I can tell you that as bad as he's been playing , he's much better than any Goalie in either of those.

Thx, I was wondering who was going to say it first! Without Myers, Trouba, Chiarot and maybe Buff, do you expect his GAA to be the same as last year. Wasn't tonight his first game? Save % up - why?
It was a given that without the defense core of last year that people were going to dump on Helle!!
It won't get any better unless the Jets trade Laine for a 1st pairing d-man.

Bogo - the next Sean Pronger ?

Letestu and Bourque - before you rag on Maurice, maybe consider that they were promised a fair shot by management when they signed here.

Really? Isn’t anyone who signs a two way contract promised that?
And furthermore, these are two ahl players so how do we even know if another team
Would have offered them two way contracts?
I believe I already read one of them (can’t remember which) said he was only being offered PTO’s

No, I meant SEMHL, Manitoba South East senior leaque.

OK, ok, I am being very facetious with that comment.

Its one game, lots of new faces, 18 years olds playing D AHL'ers on D, much confusion, etc and you have to get through the preseason and see who impresses and all that. But Helle did not look that sharp but its preseason and we all know what he is capable of. Nuff said about Helle.

Pionk looks like he can make plays, quick, you can see his flare for the offensive.
Hienola on D at 18 years old looks like a good pick, we will see how he progresses but I like what I see so far.
This Chebisov seems to be in the mix everytime he is on the ice, we need to see more of him in the future. Hard to get him off the puck and can make offensive plays, more please.

Anyways, forward we go!

Despite all Laine's flaws, he is still just a 20 yr old kid. Not ready to trade him yet as there is so much upside to come. The next two years for him are the "show me" years and I think he can deliver. Bridge him.
- jetsnation

No doubt the kid can score goals. And normally I would be more understanding of a 20 year old going through a slump. But with this kid in particular has not shown any drive to address his glaring weaknesses. Just complains about line-mates and completely throws his teammates under the bus. I have no patience for a guy like that. He is demoralizing in the locker room. He can't pass, back-check, take a hit, drive the wing, and seems to be content with camping on the top of the circle, and if he doesn't get the puck, complains to media about his teammates. If he is ok with a 3 year deal at 6M AAV, fine. But if he wants to be paid like a star, he'd better figure out how to play on the other 85% of the ice surface. There is a reason nobody has put out an offer sheet on him. Lets hope Chevy can get a quality return and be done with this saga.

I would be thrilled for the Jets. Doesn't seem to out of reach either. Philly likes to make big moves.

Think Nogier made a case to be on the team last night even as a seventh d-man - or be the first called up due to injury.
Pionk? I'm not a Pionk fan - but maybe he'll grow on me. As Capt Obvious would say - not a Trouba
Chibisov is a player IMO - he'll get his chance - - already wish he was signed for more than one year. Lots of desire and hustle along with size. Tanev's replacement?
Heinola looks like he has promise - needs to bulk up, and maybe next year? Can see
why he was rated highly.
Would like to see more of Mickael Spacek - the kid has a chance. My thoughts.

Stanley sure is noticeable out there, and not for the wrong reasons. I like him, but not sure how consistent he can be through the 82 game seasons. Pionk has not impressed me one bit. He is all over the ice and whoever he is paired with will be staring down plenty of 2 on 1's if he keeps that up.

I would be curious to discover how many goals Ehlers scores while with Laine and without. It seems that he scores more when Laine is not on his line.

Could someone please direct me to a place where I can look this up?

Thanks!
