Talbot had a bad review the other day but Rittich was flawless on all 4 shots he faced.

If you get playoff Smitty you’ll be excited. If it’s regular season Smitty it’s going to be a long season.
Funny we sign each other’s goalie, trade garbage for garbage, Chiasson signs on a pto last year, Rieder on a pto this year. When I lived in cowtown in the 80’s never would you see this.

It might be a long season regardless but you are correct about never seeing this in the 80s ah I miss those BOA days where the battles really meant something because both teams were good

I agree. Had season tickets for 5 years when the Flames first came to Calgary. Was at the all star game there, Sather was coaching, 8 oilers on the team, booed everyone of them except Gretzky.

I wish I had the chance to see more of those games live but being hours away doesn’t make it easy to accomplish.....I can just imagine how the atmosphere was in Calgary

Not particularly keen on the preseason strategy of icing such intentionally weak rosters as that one. There were two NHL regular Dmen and no NHL regular C's (though Marody might change that). I hope Tip cuts down real fast from here on.

Yeah, the D pairings are a bit confounding. A player capable of playing that 2RD spot would be nice right about now. Despite his historical results with Klefbom, I'm not inclined to rely on Benning for that spot after that game.
