You have to tip your cap to what the Blues accomplished last season, as physically ill as it made me to watch them raise the cup least season. The way they did it was amazing, almost like a movie, and they even got to beat Boston the one team in the NHL closet to a set of villains as your going to find. (Thankfully nobody got licked)
Preds fans should know as well as anyone that having basically the exact same team coming in from one year to the next doesn't necessarily mean squat. Yes everything that could go wrong with Preds seemed to go wrong last year, but I'm not going to bother with excuses. The difference with the Blues is that they're back end is solid defensively, and that's something that doesn't tend to change from season to season baring injury or player regression. Bing should be fine if the Blues play well in front of him. Under that kind of system you don't really need a superstar goalie, just a competent one.

The difference “in my opinion “ from a Preds final to 1st round exit and St.Louis in winning a cup is getting a coach and players to buy in and believe in one another. In other words...be a TEAM. Confidence starts with a goalie playing well and allows the rest of the players to play “their game “ and not worry about protecting their goalie.
It will be interesting to see Binnington can have the same year as last...and if Pekka can regain his cup final performance this year? Sorry but my money is on a healthy Jordan.
