Game 1 loss...Let's sit Hughes and trade Severson. I didn't see that it said "guest writer" and I normally wouldn't check but it was so clear that this wasn't Todd writing it and of course I wasn't surprised when I saw that it wasn't. |

Have to agree with just about everything in the article. Not the sit Hughes part but no way that happens. I am not ready to say Severson can’t handle 3rd pair duties although he did look that way; but Mueller still is bringing nothing helpful. Get him out and add Carrick. Then we can all act surprised when that doesn’t go better. |

Hall - Hughes - Palms
Goose - Nico - Boqvist
Coleman - Zacha - Bratt
Wood - Zajac - Simmonds

It’s what I would like to see. Was just playing around with what might be more balanced.
Hughes is on the top line not because he deserves it but to give him some defensively responsible wingers. Nico is better defensively and can help cover for Goose. I think Boqvist is defensively sound as well.
The bottom 6 is who I want in the game but was more looking for something different then really thinking they belong together. |

I can handle that lineup. I'd maybe just switch Wood and Coleman. Whatever line you put Wood on it instantly makes it a liability. Each of those bottom 2 lines look better with Coleman on the LW, and make it iffy with Wood there.
Severson is fine for 3rd pair. .
it's been one game.... he was pretty decent-good for us last season and was good at the Worlds. He needs a competent partner, and to improve his own game, which he will, because we know he's better than this.
I keep seeing the term "physicality" and "strength" thrown around, as if it actually matters in hockey. Isn't that silly. I think it should be ignored entirely. Doesn't have any effect when say a 220lb man leaning on, bumping into, or checking someone 50 pounds lighter. All sense and memory tells us it's easier for a lighter man to bring down the heavier one, which clearly happens more often than not. Why do they even list physical attributes on a player's profile anyway?? |

Is it too early to be screaming about the TRIPLE H line of HALL, HUGHES, and HISCHIER? I can feel TRIPLE H tearing the league up on a nightly basis! |

If Hynes did play him he'd probably only give him 8 minutes anyway |

Keeping Boqvist out is just horrible. |

Boqvist's agent congratulated him on his debut tonight, so it would seem he's getting in. I don't know where you read he isn't.
Edit: seems like someone beat me to it |

Looks like they're throwing Zacha a bone by putting him with capable linemates. |

Trade Wood for Ho-Sang! - Queenie_5_hole
Not sure you want that. I could see wanting to trade Wood for a roll of the dice offensively, but that Ho-Sang kid...yikes. |
