After just 2 games the Jets will not be trading with those 3 teams as they don't have a d-man worth Ehlers or Lainen which is what posters will want from Winnipeg. Risto is not worth either of them except in the minds of Buff fans so don't even post trades with him part of it. Also the Jets don't need any 5/6 d-men as that won't improve their situation. I think if the Jets D is still a problem into November and Buff isn't back with the team they will look to making a move, but it's highly unlikely it will involve any of Eks 3 fantasy teams.

I think he got off track trying to say Ristolainen sucks and the Jets shouldn’t want him period, but especially not for the price tag.

Ehlers was hurt for a big chunk last year, and played hurt when he came back yet still led all Jets with points per ice time, while not playing on top line or top power play.
He leads all our forwards in anylitics and is our best play driver.

This is why we get defensive of Ehlers, he is very very good

WPG looks better than I expected but without Big Buff - it is going to be tough to make it all the way and it was only one year ago that this was EXACTLY their expectation.

Buff has to do what is good for him. His teammates should leave him alone and not pressure him to come back.

With that said, as a Flyers fan - it was BRUTAL to lose Pronger. It was a loss that didn't get better for a long time (yet) and Big Buff will likely be the same kind of loss for WPG if he hangs up the skates.

It's mostly a case of home town fans, looking at their own team with rose coloured glasses.

The most glaring question is when is Ehlers going to get first line power play time? So far this season, he's shown that he's miles ahead of both Laine and Connor.

Me saying “jets fans” doesn’t necessarily lump in the entire fanbase.

Personally I've always been down on Risto, but there is no denying he looked great the last two games under a new coach. While I would still shop him, his value is so low at the moment, and I can see the sabres just deciding with every additional win not to mess with a good thing.

Besides, the sabres have 4 defensemen on IR or injured so they can't really make a deal until Montour comes back.
