The only blessing from the Geno injury is the cap space that is freed up. This allows GMJR some time to make the trade that helps set the final roster. As RW points out, probably won’t have a good sense of this year’s team until December. Let’s just hope that the injury bug doesn’t follow the Pens all season. |

I'm really curious to see how the center situation funnels out. I'd like to see Simon get another try. |

Tonight's game should be interesting to say the least... two major injuries already for the Pens, and against a team that is reeling from a tough off-season. Not just the D departures and Buff, but how focused is Laine going to be, really?
GO PENS!

Not really, because if Geno comes back with a few months, that cap hit has to go away or else we’d be over the cap. If it happened closer to playoffs, this could work as You can go over the cap in the playoffs (Ala Patrick Kane a few years ago coming back from injury). If they’re gonna trade for a center, they’re likely going to have to move salary too. |

This is why it's the perfect time to move JJ, but at the same time when I look at the rental centers right now it's pretty thin. Any move would need to be a hockey a move and that may not only be difficult, but might not make sense either.
The Pens are going to just have to ride this out and hope they at least break even to give them a sporting chance of fighting their way back up when they get healthy. |

They exist solely to antagonize and torture the Flyers. |

Unfortunately, the pens really need to spread their strength out, so I don’t wanna load up the top six. I’ve said this before but at least he elevates his game and stops pouting when he’s playing in the top six. |

I think this as about as good as you get offensively, maybe a ZAR and Kahun swap? Or a Galch to center switch, but id rather try that later if mccann and Simon are atrocious. Also at some pt i think it would be benificial to give Bluegar a try on 3rd, just to see what he has with and against better players. |

LOL trust me, I don’t want him there, but I think he can at least not be a liability there and maybe open up a little space for Sid and Jake. |

Morrissey is the only starter from last year lacing up on D for tonight's game and he's not 100% either.
EDIT: Morrissey out too |

Anyone interested in grabbing Josh Ho Sang from the Islanders? Kid has the skill, but i guess has an attitude that makes the skill set easy to ignore.
I'd rather get a guy like him and plug him on Crosby's wing (better than the current plan of Zach franking Aston Reese.) That month+ that he will have before guys like Rust/Bjugstad/Malkin get back will give him enough of a tryout to see if something is there. If not, you plug him in the AHL or hope another team claims him and you do not extend him a qualifying offer in the offseason.
I see it as a low risk, moderate-to-high reward move. |

No panic boyz, we have already won hockey games without Geno, without Sid, even without both... time for the younger players to showcase their passion.

In light of EK’s blog about Ho-Sang, I wonder if he makes some sense depending on the price. I know Sully would probably hate him because of his defensive woes, but at cheap cost it might be worth the risk. |

Simon is finally on the top line like you've been asking for and you want to take him off for ZAR? This account has definitely been hacked! |

We already retired #66 so I'm not sure he would want to come here unless Mario unretired it and lowered it from the rafters
