Thanks for the write up. I watched most of the first period before leaving. I as everyone else did not expect the canes to go undefeated. As it is early in the year, but do you see teams adjusting their games against the canes? If so, what adjustments are being made?

Question for the Canes’ fans. But first, a prelude...

I’m a Manitoba guy, so I love our Jets. As a dedicated fan with access to many different sources of information, I find out many things about what’s going on behind the scenes that doesn’t reach the media. Guys being held out of the lineup with “undisclosed injuries” in the past (call it rehab for a nasal injury), guys lost this summer who knew early in the new year that they wouldn’t sign if player X was still on the team, etc. Long story short, people closer to the city in which a team plays tend to have more connections for information that doesn’t make the media. So, back to my question:

Sebastian Aho. He signed an offer sheet with MTL and he (or his agent) said he was excited to sign with the Habs. Then Carolina matches, and he says he would have been happy in MTL, but he’s very happy to be staying with the ‘Canes. Now, he’s not finding the scoresheet at his normal rate. Forgive me being a touch naive in this one, as I have only watched about a period of Carolina hockey live this year... so I’m going based on stats. But, is Aho’s subpar play a reflection of not wanting to be in Carolina? Or a divide in the locker room because he signed an offer sheet elsewhere?

Just a thought, curious what the more avid Carolina fans have to think about it.

Side note: great team, Reimer needs to become your starter though. He’s not a Vezina candidate, but Mrazek will not be reliable enough to start 30+ games

Aho is fine. The offer sheet with Montreal was just his way of forcing Carolina to get his contract done. He is just snake bitten regarding his play. He is getting his shots but can't find the back of the net. I am not concerned.

Thanks for reading!

I'd say it's a bit early for teams to be making any adjustments and I wouldn't necessarily say there are any obvious changes to make when playing the Hurricanes. But no, I haven't seen any adjustments from other teams.
