He's been on the cusp.

Dougie Hamilton has been the best player on the ice in every game he's played so far, though. Dude has been really, really good.

What's your take on Gardiner so far?

He was my last pick in my pool (he flew under the radar because of the late signing).

I would expect Aho to produce sooner rather than later as well.

He's been fine. Moves the puck well and a better defender than I anticipated given the griping about him in Toronto. He definitely make some wild mistakes once in a while, but the good vastly outweighs the bad.

He doesn't just blindly throw the puck on net from anywhere in the offensive zone, either, which is nice.

Obviously there's a bit of bias here but I'm pretty impressed with the Pens so far given the circumstances with all the injuries and the fact everyone always craps on their "bare cupboard" prospect pool...like every year....for a decade now.
