Rutherford had some comments today about how players returning from injury will need to play and that despite some guys being sent back to Wilkes when the roster is healthy, they will be looking at trades and those guys will be first on the call up list (hard to imagine he isn't thinking about lafferty here).

RW are you incapable of writing a positive blog?

The Pens are down Malkin, Galchenyuk, Rust and Bjukstad. These are crippling injuries but the captain has taken the lead and the team has followed.
Sid is putting out one of the most dominant performances in the league. We have young guys coming up and playing hard, getting on the score sheet.
The team is playing some good defensive hockey, even JJ has looked fine.
We are watching our team forge a new identity, blowing out opponents or grinding down unbeaten teams.
Hell you could have done an injury update, does everyone on here know that Galchenyuk had a severe allergic reaction to a spider bite that set him back?

What the the hell was the point of talking about Oleksiak exactly?

What a pathetic blog. Is it so hard for you to cheer for the Pens?

I didn't find the blog overly negative and thought he ended on a positive note: "Tonight is a good opportunity to earn another two points in the standings. Even if they don’t they’ve earned a slip up with the previous week of good results."

I actually picked the Stars to miss the playoffs this year. That said it’s super early and if their big guns and goaltending show up they could come roaring back in a thin division.

I feel bad how GMJR did Oleksiak. The guy did all that was asked of him and was better and cheaper than either of the 2 we have on the 3rd pairing now.

You didn’t find the fact that half the blog was about a third pairing dman on the opposing team with no premise other than to throw a quick jab at JR?

Didn't they suck at the start of last year? They just need the owner to go on another smear campaign of his stars.

Definitely with you here. Gotta be happy with the results and the processes hasn’t been all that bad either. First line and first pairing have been great. Second pairing is fine. Looks like we have contributors up and down the lineup. Johnson and Gudbranson are finally being treated appropriately as our bottom two defensemen and not being over deployed like last year. Really my only problem has been the second line and that can be directly blamed on injuries. If we drop one or two in the coming games I won’t be too worried.

Oleksiak could have asked to go back to Dallas. It seems like something JR would do trading a guy back to where he wants to be for exactly what he traded for him

Vic, I ran into one of Stephen Johns uncles last night. I told him to tell Stephen you said hello and wanted to golf and have a few beers. Let me know when you can make that happen.

This is probably what happened... please excuse RW, as he only sees it as another chance to take a(nother) shot at JJ.

I feel like people on this board are like a battered spouse. RW’s last few blogs have actually been positive yet you all are firing off that it’s negative and trying to make it negative.

Nah, just a little sarcasm. And deep down, I hope JJ has a career year... just to shut everyone up already, especially RW (recognizing that this IS his blog, LOL).

Can confirm. Rino and Tojo both picked Dallas to miss. I did not - as Rino said it’s early. I’m surprised at their slow start. I took Klingberg in my fantasy league and he’s been garbage
