Can we get back to how much Brady Skeij blows? His performance last night was so bad it reminded me of the days of when we had Dave Karpa. I can’t stand watching him anymore be soft on the end boards in his own zone constantly losing battles. Guy is soft in front of his own net. Brings very little offensively. Am I being to harsh? Idk this guy is such a disappointment and if this franchise things he is a top pair d-man they need to re-evaluate themselves.

Not really much they could do. They won't bench him, so its either he gets better or they explore a trade. I don't know if anyone wants a defenseman at a 5.25 cap for the next 5 years who really isn't playing well.

Regarding earlier discussions of supplemental discipline:

Helms was fined $5k for slash on Lindholm. No fine to Lindholm for elbow.

Apparently nothing for Hall either...

Fox decided to duck on Hall's hit. Next time he shouldn't.

If he doesn't duck or try to get out of the way, do you think it's still a penalty??? Yes point of contact was the head, and I agree the refs were garbage both ways, but full speed is a lot different than slow mo. Deserved a call for sure after looking again, but if he stands up I bet the elbow is right in his chest and it's more shoulder to shoulder...

How was it not penalized? 4 mins because Fox didn't want to stand tall. Would have been zero if he did.

Principal point of contact is head, even if he ducked, which if he did, was minimal, but contact was to head by elbow with no attempt to play the puck. That's why a call should have been made.

You could be right, but I find it tough to blame someone who sees a guys barreling at him at the very last second and has a startled reaction of trying to get out of the way. Even if the hit happened the way you suggest, the correct call would then be a charge. People argue that Hall didn't leave his feet, but you aren't allowed to dive through your check either.

Extending your elbow at a players head from the opposite side of your body is now the other players fault. Can't make this up

I think he meant it should have been a major.

It looked like Hall left his feet too, not sure why he needed it if he was just going in for a check

Nah not blaming the guy for getting out of the way. It's the same as a guy spinning along the boards, showing his numbers and then getting hit from behind. It's on the attacking player. Hall got a penalty... major??? Eh I dunno. But that's prolly my Devil bias. Your guy wasn't hurt so that's good...but I see the oppositions point in the hit

Have watched it several time, was shown also at the game, looks like he left his feet. Maybe post contact but looked like it started right before he made contact or during. In addition, he didn't make an attempt to play the puck. But the officiating was horrific throughout, missing a boarding call on Smith and others throughout the game.

well they also gave hall 2 mins for roughing when he literally did nothing close to that after the hit. Could have been a major as easily as it could have been offsetting penalties in this two hand touch league.

Simple fact is the Rangers better figure out the 2nd line. They suck balls. If Quinn keeps putting out the same line up its going to be a looong season in a bad way.

And that's the problem. One night it's a 5, the next it's nothing. Not to mention all the other soft calls that went on for both sides. It's garbage officiating for both sides. That is the only standard...

It's not that hard, Buch and Kreider have chemistry from past years and Kakko should play with Zib to allow his talent to thrive. Quinn needs to stop trying to make Buch work on the first line

Definitely agree with that. Probably the only two calls that should have been made last night was Smith's boarding and Halls

I just don't get Buch. End of last year, he was engaged all over the ice, now its like he is sitting around watching Panarin and Zib

He has always been a bit lazy, just the skill has allowed him to stay around cause he flashes it

Just sucks, i know they try but Haley, Smith and McKegg shouldn't be in the top 12 forwrds. Hell why not sit Skjei a game and put Smith on his D spot. This team needs Chytill and Kratsov to prove it down in the minors and come back up to add that needed skill that just doesn't exist in the bottom 9 right now

I think Chytil is close to rejoining the team.

Yeah, if Smith or Haley are moving up from the 4th line, its bad. If we are sitting Skjei I want Lindgren. That dude has some nasty and he is good on D.
