It seems like the Flyers have the worst luck with injury problems... Lindros, primeau, Lappy, Pronger, Lindberg, Patrick, and Morin just to name a few.

I wonder if this will make things a bit easier come expansion draft time.

I throw Tim Kerr in there as well, I believe he didn't play in any of the cup series against the Oilers

Hey plind thoughts about the game?

Present and accounted for after a win. Roll call must be taken.
I know a lot of tools on this site worry about who posts when. They should get a life.

I think the team is improved. Vigneault is a credible coach, who has had a good career. As I said when he was hired I expect the team to be competitive under him.

The Morin situation is unfortunate. Feel bad for him as a person, lot of hard work to get to this point, and his dreams will be likely shattered.

Unfortunately it looks like Morin is a bust. Kid should call it quits. His body doesnt seem to be built for this and whatever Gods are out there dont want him to play.

It has some bearing. Morin is clearly 1 less to worry about protecting.

Well I guess that solves the too many D men issue. Wish him the best. Incredibly frustrating to watch this kid develop over the past 6 years with all the ups and downs of thinking you have something and then getting it taken away over and over.

Let's be honest. He had no shot whatsoever of being protected.

First time I've thought Farabee did not have a good one, Meyers was an absolute beast.

I disagree. He was never going to be a top-3/4 protected bearing a miracle.

He's going to have bad games from time to time.

Wonder if AV will make him a healthy scratch like Hakstol did to Konecny to make him play the right way or whatever the reason was. Something about veterans won't change from their stupid ways, so scratch the kids in favor of them.

I certainly hope so, for Sam's sake. He will give it his all. The sad reality is that he will have missed 90+ percent of three straight seasons -- and crucial years where he'd have naturally evolved from prospect to close to whatever the finished product would be -- plus all the mental hurdles of trusting his knee again and trying to recover his game. I really, really hope he can defy the odds and make it back again.

I no longer have a vote in the Masterton Trophy because I had to give up my PHWA membership when I started working for the Flyers. But if I did, Sam would have my vote.

Its a shame. Injuries robbed him of truely knowing what he could become as a player. Sadly, he's not the first and wont be the last. Brightside is that his youth make for a favorable recovery. He will only be 26-27 by the time he is fully healed. Whether his skills will be at alevel to play in the best league in the world or will these injuries stagnate his development to what he is now is the 64000 question....Im rooting for the guy

Maybe not his most effective offensive game, but that line didn't give up a single scoring chance against. They locked MTL down all night.

Maybe bench him for 10 and put Hagg at forward.

That'll teach him to score a goal every game, or else fetch Mr. Clarke his popcorn.

for sure, thought G and JVR were going, just thought the kid was fighting the puck a bit, not worried. Almost a compliment of how good his prior games have been.

They dominated MTL in possession/shots with the Coots line having an off night. Hayes and G lines really picked up the slack both ways.

Myers has been playing shut down defense since he came into the lineup.

nice of you to tell him he should quit. If the kid has it in him to work his way back, and i would bet he does, I hope very much he does and has a career.

I feared they were in trouble when Shea scored to tie it up, after they missed on so many opportunities. I Thought there would be a even up power play for the Habs, which never happened.

JVR is not popping off the scoresheet but he is skating as well as I can ever remember. I’d rather have that he’s showing he’s not just a one way player

Tony Androckitis posted clips of the injury and there was very little contact, and Morin actually returned to the ice for another shift afterwards. Maybe there's a little bit of hope that this ACL tear isn't quite as bad as the last one. It's still horribly bad luck for the kid.

I thought that, too, and then I wondered if I was confusing him with Ratcliffe at times because the black jerseys that the complete idiots in charge of the Phantoms came up with have numbers that are almost impossible to make out.

Two devastating knee injuries is tough to come back from. I believe he was going to struggle to be a full time NHL player even without injuries.
