Penguins down 3-0,3-0,2-0 and win all 3. - tvetter
They were down 3-0 @BOS and came back to take the lead but eventually lost the game 6-4 |

Crawford is usually better than that. Maybe he caught Lehner's yips. lol
Also, DeBrincat in the SO reminds me of Sharp. They're both terrible. - tazer_and_diet
Well chalk up another loss for the losers. It's not going to get any better. |

Toews is pathetic! - Sn1362
That quite honestly was the most pathetic shootout attempt I think I've ever seen. I think a 7 year old goaltender would have stopped Toews there. The rest of his game sucked as well.

This is one of those games where they actually played really well save for 3-4 instances. Those dizzy D-zone situations are still happening too often. Take the easy play and get the puck out of the zone. - Chunk
Yeah, things are getting better, like the pk. Thank God for that! It's when I see old habits that didn't work then are still being used now & still don't work drives me up a wall.
I'm calling it a night. Good night, peoples. |

They played a decent game, gave up less than 30 SOG through regulation, good PK, and on the road against a good team. Let’s get two points tomorrow and we will have picked up 5 out of 6 possible points against three good teams. We are trending in right direction, goals against are down, my buddy Gus was engaged tonight, maybe we can now get a fourth for him instead of a fifth. |

At some point, the offense should come around.
40 goals in 16 games - 2.5 per game - tied for 26th.
24 goals 5x5 - 1.5 per game. |

2 regulation goals and OT. There have to be at least 5 or 6 games this year that have turned out like this. - tazer_and_diet
3rd time this year they have blown a 2 goal lead to lose in reg or OT/SO..
those are the type of losses this team can't can't afford but bad teams take

Good teams don’t lose those games.
Bubble teams do.
Hawks are a bubble team.
Hawks problem is - when they get up by two - they can’t get the third.
Only two games this season scoring more than 3 without using ENGs. |

No doubt we have to get offense going, hopefully sooner rather later, but we need to keep our goals against down as well. We need to score three or more goals a game more consistently. Somebody mentioned picking up another top six player, that would be nice, however they don’t grow on trees and who would give one up at this stage of season? Not very likely to happen, so we need the boys to pick it up. Yes, we are a bubble team I agree, but this team is worth watching. |

well 8 through a very difficult 12 game stretch with travel for every game...what crazy schedules the nhl puts together: 3-3-2
leafs tomorrow followed by knights and preds on the road then the sabres at home..

And, I think, only one 3-goal lead (LAK) this season that wasn’t due to ENGs. |

they can't afford another top 6 winger and..they got the guys who should score...just not happening...
they have the offensive talent but other than kane know one else has been a consistent producer..

Good thing Colliton healthy scratched Dach and Boqvist for Zack Smith and Slater Keoekekk who will both be in the AHL next year (they belong in the AHL already).
This team is a bottom feeder and Dach/Boqvist are not only infinitely better players than Smith/Kookoo in the future..they are better players TODAY!
Colliton is a bigger joke than Bowman, but Bowman is the one who hired this Swedish Leaguer with one mediocre season of AHL coaching.
What a waste of Patrick Kane’s Elite play. |

Hawks up by 2 and AHL dman can't make a play on the puck, when we were in the o zone for over a minute, in the neutral zone ends up in the back of the the net. |

6 points in 5 games not bad. Could of won tonight but thre AHL dman cost us 1 point tonight. This trend continues for the season |

What we can do is trade Kane and you could go along with him. Or maybe you could look at the actual game play from the previous couple of games, and realize Boq and Dach were trending down and giving them a day off would help them. |

JC explained sitting both the kids for developmental reasons ie to give them a break considering the heavy schedule recently and 3 games in 4 night. I expect they will be in tomorrow vs the leafs.
There were several defensive misques that could have ended up in the net but didn't because of crow. How about the BTB beauties of giveaways by seabs that craw stuffed eventually leading to the kane goal. Pens score and seab is the dog of the game again.
This offense has to get going to win these very winnable games. they completely biffed 3 min of pp with 1:30 5 on 3. Lost two faceoffs and ended up losing at least 40 seconds of 5 on 3 time and had difficulty establishing the zone. Great kill by the pens.

Blackhawks through first 16 games last year gave up 60 goals
16 games this year, 49 goals, i think it's less because of 2 shoot out losses but none the less, not losing 6 or 7 to whatever. We've been in a lot of these games
Can't wait for Murphy to come back and really don't like Maata playing his off side |

He's not here to win, he's here to develop. Honestly i agree with it, there's no point in playing guys who really aren't going to be a part of the future, so you bring in a young coach to develop young players at a NHL level. It will also show young free agent players or cough cough draft picks that haven't signed yet you are an organization willing to do this.

Didn't play a bad game at all. Needed to get a third goal in order to develop more of a killer instinct. Freaking Pens didn't deserve walking away with the two points. |
