Here it's what's funny Stan bowman hiring a European leaguer head coach who hasn't improved this team, and the team continues to lose .

Also what's funny is hawks fans who have this fairy tale belief Chicago will make the playoffs if we just give them more time and more games to figure out the simplest things , shoot , skate , pass , defend .

What else is hilarious, some fans believing that a team that struggles to score 2 goals per game will somehow open the flood gates in scoring more goals , with a defense that is inept.

Any time you give up 2 goals on the road against a good team, you should win that game. After Kane's goal, thought the Hawks played like they were running out the string. Chance-taking disappeared, and little to no jumping in by our D. Just too conservative to me. Played like they were concerned about making a mistake. Can't win with a mindset like that.

wrong vs vegas

toews is in the top 3 for career shoot out in goals (those with more than 40 goals) 46 and at 48% right behind Oshie.

Pretty damn good.

yeah he biffed one last night...big deal...some do it helluva lot more then he does..

Yeah, he beats out the "King of Deke," Patrick Kane, who based on what I have seen, isn't that great, despite a few highlight-reel worthy SO goals from years back.

There's "bubble team" and there's "bottom feeder". After that atrocious (lack of) effort against SJ, and the fact the Hawks would have to jump 4 teams just to be the "first team out", I will consider them a bottom feeder until they can show otherwise.

Precisely!!! I was texting my friend after last night's LOSS. He wrote: "what a surprise-take a 2-0 lead and give it up. Never would have expected that."

I responded: "my thoughts exactly - cellar dwellers indeed".

Please care to flesh this out a little? I'm a little confused. To me, he is one of the greatest offensive stars I have ever seen play the game.

Say 2 hail marys... then go visit Father O'Brien in his office. Be sure to lock the door behind you when you get in, so no one interrupts him/I mean your meeting.

Didn't see the game - family obligation. So ... they played a good-but-not-great game?

Played a decent road game, Ebony. The final score could easily have seen the Hawks take the 2 points. Pittsburgh must have had a 'meh' performance, or we must have done some things right. Probably a mixture of both. The trend remains to the upside. At least we did not embarrass ourselves.

The played a pretty good road game. Held a good team to 2 goals, minimized SOGs that Crawford had to face (he was pretty good, too) and were pretty good (that’s three “pretty goods” in one paragraph) at clearing pucks away from him AND AT HAVING PLAYERS IN GOOD POSITION to receive outlet passes and clear the zone. A couple of shifts being unable to clear, but not often or continuous.

Two breakdowns led to the goals against - Koekkoek misplaying the puck and turning it over inside the blue line, then letting Malkin get past him for a wide open pass to Guentzel; then four Hawks following the puck to the left of Crawford, with Nylander high on the other side, leaving Rust all alone with a wide open net. Happens too often within Colliton’s “system”, especially with veterans on the ice.

And couldn’t find the offense to put the dagger in the game - can’t get to a three goal lead this season (only one).

But an encouraging effort against a good team.

Just MHO, of course. Others here would disagree.

It was a good effort. I agree. I think Koek wanders too much. I hang both goals on him. I probably am just biased against him though. It would have been nice to get 2 points in regulation, but I think losing Crosby made them all play harder. I'm optimistic. Maybe not playoffs, but I'll never root against them to miss them. Or cheer how much of losers they are, like some do.

Good recap, the boys played a good game, sure they blew a two goal lead, but like you said last night, we are a bubble team, so these blown leads at a tough venue will happen. Great teams don’t blow that lead, but we are not a great team, we are a team that has an opportunity to make the playoffs. For that to happen we need to continue to keep GA down like we have been doing lately, and get our offense going a bit, it should be a fun season, better than last two.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I think Patrick Kane is one of the greatest offensive players of all time - I love that I get the privilege of watching him. I was just saying that Toews is actually better at shootouts than him. Going all the way back to their head-to-head in the World Juniors, I believe.

Ok, the Bears have a winnable game. No Stafford. Let’s see what Biscuit can do today.

Comical. Listening to the Lions local wonks talking about how they’ve never addressed the backup position. At least when Stafford’s healthy they have a starter.

- HawkintheD

Have to wonder just how robust of a "book" the Bears have on Leons backup QB. Just a hunch here...He's going to look like a HOFer for at least a half.

2 goal and even 3 goal leads are overcome nightly in this league...any team can give it up or overcome it...its the way the game is played and called today...never out of it..

career shout out out stats for Kane: 42 goals in 104 attempts thats 40.4% that puts him 3rd with players over 100 attempts...

not that far from toews; 4 less goals with 9 more attempts...

Again, Mitch can't hit a guy in stride under no pressure and the throw is short of the sticks...punt.

Edit - This is for Ogi in case he's flying. I know he'll want the play by play cause you know...the NFL.
