Has it actually been said somewhere that Gusev is scratched tonight or is that just a guess? Seems like that'd be a weird move with him scoring last night and scoring a big shoot-out goal the game before.

it’s either goose or bo who’s scratched tonight.

I’ve said this before, Hynes system is not sustainable for 3 periods. His system wants to sprint a marathon when it’s not possible (or there needs to be better condition coach).

He’s got to find a way to slow down the team in the 2nd and then sprint back in the 3rd.

I'd frankly rather sit Goose than Boqvist until our defensive game shores up a bit. He can obviously score, but he's still a massive liability and I don't think his 2 penalties last night are going to sit well with coaches.

Hughes with Hall isn't a whole lot better than Hughes and Gusev in the two way sense if Hall is going to play like he did on that 2nd Calgary goal.

I just want to know how long we are going to let Hynes and Nesreddine do the same poop and expect different results? Because it is completely insane.

First off, one of Goose's penalties was a very weak call so it's not like a huge deal. IF our coaches weren't idiots they'd be finding a way to cover for this guys because he's a productive player. Instead we sit him. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF BAD COACHING.

Second off, we all saw Tennyson play out of position and get beat badly. I appreciate the guys effort but he is clearly overmatched at this level. Not to mention it seems like Butcher is not a good partner for him. Yet here we are doing this same thing again. PERHAPS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF BAD COACHING?!

The point already made that this team fades in the third is spot on. And it's been that way for a while. These guys look tired and even in the one magical playoff year we struggled down the stretch and looked beat. I'm not sure if this is the system or conditioning but obviously Hynes doesn't either.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PULL THE PLUG ON THIS REGIME. It's not fun hockey. It's not winning hockey. It's another year down the toilet for the sake of what?

LAST: I like Schneider but somebody better figure out if this guy is hurt or what because he hasn't been the same since he was pulled in the first game after looking like a stud all preseason. No team survives with bad goaltending but we sure as poop can't cover for it.

So I wonder what McDavid and Draisaitl are going to do to Schneider tonight which will end up on the highlight reels.

Also I know Hall is a point per game, but more games like last night and no way I want him on the team 8 years for 10 mill plus

He's going to cost us SO much money for SO many years. Is 1 Hall better than 2 top 6 wingers? Hard to say yes. Yea, I know he did the MVP thing and we were crap when he was hurt all year.. but I watch the team and have to force myself to believe he's making that much of a difference. Maybe he is because of the simple fact he's getting teams' top D pairings and lines, opening things up for the less skilled lines to have a chance.

I would have rather spent the money on Panarin. Just saying.

I think he would prefer to move on and we should look for a good package before the next knee injury.

Hall is better then 2 top six wingers because the value is in how much skill you pack in the least number of roster spots. You want 1 line that can KILL IT. Not two lines that are pretty good. But from a practical standpoint this isn't really working.

Still need new coaches. Just saying.

Great, those are the right moves IMO. Not thrilled about Mueller but Tennyson has looked awful the last couple games. I wonder who they put on the fourth line in Rooney's space. I'd probably go with Zajac or Coleman, though wouldn't be shocked to see them throw Zacha in that spot.

Hall - Hughes - Palmieri
Gusev - Hischier - Bratt
Boqvist - Zajac - Coleman
Wood - Zacha - Simmonds

Probably not my ideal lineup, but considering how often Hynes likes to throw that fourth line out there it would maybe not be the worst thing.

I’m not gonna blame Hall too much for how much he’s been trying to force things lately. I’m not going to blame Tennyson too much for bad play, and I’m not even going to put it on the goalie tandem that sure looks incapable of even average play.
The system sucks. Whether they’re generating chances or not, for 60 minutes every night, guys skate around completely out of sync with each other, with no focused plan of attack or concept of where they should be on defense. There are what, 50 passes per game that never come within 10 feet of their intended target? Would be higher, but they aren’t able to set up and sustain any kind of pressure (not to mention the 10-20 freaking terrible giveaways every night). No one on the team has even been taught not to pass the puck to directly in front of the goalie in the defensive zone. That’s peewee stuff. They play undisciplined hockey and are prone to crumbling even with huge leads. They’re emotional weakness is off the charts and coach shifting the lines every couple nights and sitting guys who have been productive isn’t helping.

The Devils have a lot of talent, and they, along with everyone else, look like poop every night. This coaching staff is killing the team and by the time they’re fired, in mid December after we stop playing at least every other night for a little while, the season will be over.
I love the Devils with all my heart, but jfc I hate this team.

What the hell do these guys do during practice?! At times during games it looks like they've never practiced at all. And again that falls on this garbage coaching staff.

At least at times Muller looks like a capable NHL defenseman, vs Turnstyle Tennison who looked like a newborn baby deer tripping over his own feet all night last night.

LOL @ Turnstyle Tennyson.

I'm agreeing with Pomegrant that it's unlikely to be a real improvement but we can dream. At least is shows someone (frank)ing realized it was a problem.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Tenneyson is out. Just I'm not getting my hopes up with Mueller either.

both players would've been roasted on that JG goal. Maybe Mueller would've been in better position, but who knows. That was embarrassing.

The kid is a stud! It is very important to give him 10 games this year tho. I don't see why we don't do that right now, as Tennyson was to blame for some crucial goals yesterday. Smith would be a big help until Carrick can come back and we don't have to burn a year off his entry level deal. Get on it Hynes because Tenny is absolutely murdering our chances at winning.

Todd, if Spezza gets waived is it worth a look? I think we could improve our shutdown line, and bring Bratt up for a better skilled 3rd unit.

Hall Nico Palms
Boq Hughes Coleman
Gusev Spezza Bratt (risky defensively, but could become dangerous)
Zacha Zajac Simmonds (good shutdown line with two guys that can win draws)
