Haha. Good to hear. If they can keep pulling it together, there’s a possibility of something special brewing. |

I’m still waiting on when Tallon plans on fixing the defense? This team won’t make playoffs giving up 4 plus every night. Clearly Bobrovsky robbed the franchise clean with that albatross of a contract. He’s not worth it. No idea why you give such a large deal with so many years and then draft the biggest goalie prospect in years. Makes no sense but what does make sense is the Panthers making head scratching moves.
The funniest thing tho is a 7th round draft pick in Weager is s better overall player than 1st overall selection in Ekblad. Not even close. I trust Weager more than that bust. |

Hey Ballard -
I agree with these points. The defense is the key area where improvement is needed (which we’ve known for a long time).
Right there with you on the Bob contract. I’ve written about it a couple times and my dislike/fear related to the money and years for a guy already in his thirties. Dry rarely do these mega contracts work out. I think he’ll get the play turned around to more consistent. He’s shown some great flashes. Truth be told. I felt there were a couple other options in the offseason I thought could make sense for less. The perception of Bob might be skewed a bit with defensive play in front of him, though they’re getting better slowly IMO.
Big Weegar guy here and was hoping they’d resign him when the arbitration process kicked in because I felt he was a Q guy and had the potential to play the way Q’s system calls for. Took some friendly fire on here for it. Haha.
As this young season progresses, I’m thinking more about the idea of moving Hoffman for defensive pieces (if possible)... |

It’s luongo all over again. The goalie has to stand on his head night after night.
Ekblad can’t skate
Stralman is old and slow
Psysk is so bad he plays forward
Yandle is soft and a turn over machine
Weaver isn’t bad
Brown is the only one with any toughness
Mathisson isn’t another turnover machine
P.S. Ekblad was the number 1 overall pick because he was way mature beyond his age playing against boys |

Not sure where the refs were lookkng on that hit on boyle. Seems like the exact play they always claim they want rid of |

That was ridiculous. Very dangerous. No response from anyone on the Cats either - bad look. |

Hey, Harv. What do you mean? Marchand didn’t put the hit on Boyle. |

I think he means standing up for his team. Although it nulified the PP and might have given the cats the jolt they needed. What a needed win. |

Ahh, good call. I wasn’t sure what he meant and thought he was referring to the Boyle hit and that’s why I was confused.
Hey...never had a doubt about tonight... |

Stats being what they are, that was the first game where Bob just wasn't very good. Pastrnak ripped the first goal right past him, but the next two shouldn't have gotten by him. Monty came in and played well. That was amazing to come back from being down 4-0 after 40minutes.

A game featuring 3 power outages:
o Lights go off in the middle of a scoring chance on the Panthers PP,
o Panthers lose all mojo for the second half of the second period, and
o Bruins have no juice for the third period and OT.
Which was worse? Giving up 4 goals in ten minutes and getting Bob pulled or blowing a 4 goal lead and losing at home?
The Panthers have some lessons to learn and some reinforcement of the never-give-up mentality under Q. But, the Bruins have some serious problems that might take some time to work through. I think this game will impact both teams over the next week or two. It has the potential to be a turning-point game with longer-term impact. |
