I don’t understand the part about the nhl teams playing too many games. Then you say they should take a lesson from a sport that plays 162 games in six months.

The part about playing series so they don't have to travel so much.
Maybe all of the team's could just play all of their games in Toronto. Just a one way road trip to the center of the universe and then just play all 82 games of mini-series. So like Florida versus Vancouver, but live from Toronto. Travel would be nil. Also have everyone make the playoffs.
WHICH PLAYER IS OFF TO THE MOST DISAPPOINTING START?
James Tanner
It has to be Kaapo Kakko. He has been brutal, with just two goals and three points in 11 games played. The New York Rangers should send him back to Finland but they probably won't because he's already burned off a year of his contract. He is currently getting enforcer levels of shot share and puck possession (high 30s) but maybe the problem is who he's playing with. We know who you play with is up to five times more important than who you play against, and Kakko's most common linemates are Krieder, Howden, Strome and Lemieux. Perhaps some time with Panarin would be what he needs. The Rangers better try something because this is ugly so far.

Since 2005-06, Kaapo Kakko is the seventh 18-year-old who has recorded six or more goals in his first 16 career NHL games (along with Jordan Staal, Patrick Kane, Evander Kane, Jeff Skinner, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Patrik Laine). #NYR

And the youngest ever to score 2 in a game for the Rangers.
Say what you want (and as a known tbag supporter nothing you say has any credibility or value) I always face my accusers. - James_Tanner
Why is your continued insults to people based on their political position continue to be tolerated? What does who they support politically have to do with anything?
I don't know why you're trying to throw a perfectly reasonable take into my face.
The day I wrote that, he was, by Evolving Hockey's aggreagate statistical model the WORST PLAYER IN THE NHL.
Much was expected of him, and he was putting up ENFORCER LEVEL statistics.
I even wrote that he might do better if he got some shifts with better players.
And what happened? STFU, Tanner is right again. - James_Tanner
No, you weren't right. Take some time to let this sink through your ego...
An 18 year old who is brand new in the league is NOT SUPPOSED TO DOMINATE. The fact that he was acclimating to this new league and had THE WORST xGF% STAT means nothing when put into the proper context.
This is what you don't seem to grasp about stats. They need to be taken as a measurement IN A GIVEN CONTEXT.
Having the worst stat (one, single (frank)ing stat) doesn't make you the worst player in the league.
And the fact that you double-down on your ignorance, Cherry-style, makes you arrogant, ignorant and dumb.
