This squad looked lifeless for much of last nights contest. No intensity, no drive and at times completely disinterested. Yes, certain players looked engaged, but as a team you might as well have put a group of strangers on the ice together.
At least the other night against Arizona they looked intense and engaged. Not sure what the motivational differences are from game to game but they clearly could not reproduce that intensity last night.
I'm actually with Tweaterben on this one, stay in the cellar and get that No. 1 pick. This squad currently has the potential to go NO WHERE. Time to start gearing up for the future and it looks as though scoring is no longer the main need for this organization. Goal tending could easily be the new number one priority. Stalock is an average at best back up and Dubnyk is sliding fast.
Hopefully BG has already started looking at some trade possibilities to stock up some prospects and picks.
TB, I hear ya brother! I'm not even hearing many shots while sitting in my stand so far this year. SO it looks like we are all on board for the "tanking, but we aren't tanking" season for a great draft pick slot and possibly more draft picks in trades of current players. I've run through who I wouldn't mind seeing on the chopping block and who I think needs to stay. Now I am starting to wonder about the roster and who is going to be protected versus the Seattle drafting.
