Carol Schram: Elias Pettersson scores twice on 21st birthday as Canucks beat Preds 5-3 The Vancouver Canucks ended their losing streak in fine style on Tuesday, with a big third period that saw birthday boy Elias Pettersson score twice. Tanner Pearson also broke his goalless drought with two goals, and Thatcher Demko made 35 saves as he took to the net while Jacob Markstrom grieves the loss of his father.

Well what do you know, Gaudette gets back into the middle and he produces a multi point game. In with the new and out with the old

He gets himself to scoring areas. He'd look good with a playmaker on his wing just like Bo.

I am starting to think this team is different than years past and not because of on ice play but more so how they are a tight knit group and seem to play for each other. Demkos comments cemented the idea for me. All things considered this is a fun team to watch so playoffs or not I will enjoy this year. Petey is such a treat to watch, we are very lucky.

Hopefully Sutter has room for Edler-Tanev in the back seat when he leaves town!!

Thanks Carol,

No surprise that the PP2 looked better with Gaudette on it than Sutter.

Sutter has played well to start the season but he usually does. It wasn't that long ago that Vantel was pointing out that Sutter was carrying the Sedins on the topline.

I still think their best course is to play Sutter and Beagle together and run with Gaudette.

Will be interesting to see what shakes out with the return of Ferland and Roussel.

Sutter, Beagle, Ferland, Motte and Rousell on the shelf

So what does the lineup look like?

Raps just beat LeBron's Lakers without 2 of their top 6 players, no excuses. Next man up.

mix of poopake, oyster and crimini mushrooms. Saute them off with onion and garlic, season them before you put on the pizza. Goes well with most sauce/cheese combos and pairs really well with pork sausage of your preferance(I like the traditional fennel/chiiliflake kinda basic sausage from Thrftys). Bit pricey if you don't knwo how to forage, but super good.

Green thinking offense is a last resort after injuries. He needs to be forced into it.

2nd night of a back to back and the Clippers were off for like 3 or 4 days, yet they were right in it until their legs gave out in the 4th.

Canucks need to sack up and adopt that same next man up winners' mentality. Excuses are for the weak.

Sven started off slow but got better as the game went on, overall I'd say he was just OK.

In his first game, Sven had the best underlying stats on the team. I havent followed any discussion on his stats since but you could tell the 2nd line was getting more chances and playing at the right end of the rink with him. Stats backed it. He's a boost for the 2nd PP unit as well.

Nice to see Pearson have a big game. He was a black hole where pucks go to die before last night.

He got stronger as the game went on which is understandable, I like his offensive game during the pre-season as well. He seemed calmer with the puck. He's definitely an upgrade for the 2nd PP unit. I'd still like to see Myers on that unit though.
