I take Frost and Farabee over Schenn every day of the week for the Flyers right now. - opeth_pa
You would be pissed too if you blew 500 bucks on Schenn home and away jerseys and then he gets traded, not to mention a couple 50 dollar tshirts. The only safe bet these days would be Hayes if your buying a jersey, would probably be valid for 7 years, haha |

I love Farabee and I think he is something special and Frost may be special too if we can afford to wait. I mean we waited years for Morin, Hagg etc and we are still waiting. I cry over Schenn lots simply because what I saw in him is what your getting in St. Louis, a complete leader and top scorer and he was my fav Flyer.
Don't get me wrong, I am am thrilled with Farabee I am past the Schenn trade honestly but just think Schenn deserves the credit he deserves, even from Flyer fans - joegreif17
I'm not a Schenn fan, but he was misused here. He does his best work playing center, and was primarily used here on the wing. |

I loved watching Schenn play and was a big fan of his but I dont think he makes the team any better this year or going forward.
I don't agree with the comparison of Morin, Hagg, etc to Frost but to each his or her own. |

For our sake I certainly hope we win this trade down the road but a big loss for the past three seasons anyway. I have a theory right or wrong and that is a bird in hand is worth two in the bush, haha ie Schenn in hand and Frost and Farabee in the bush, lol - joegreif17
Just so you know, I was semi-shocked by the deal when it happened. I don’t have anything against B Schenn. He was a bit inconsistent as a young player but still a fine point producer. As far as the piece to the puzzle, I don’t believe he would have elevated us enough over these last few seasons to change the outcomes significantly. I do think Farabee and Frost have an opportunity to significantly impact the outcomes of the next few seasons and hopefully thereafter. We’ll see.

Very good point, he may have never succeeded in Philly. The only thing Hakstol did in Phily despite all his misuse of players and lousy decision making behind the bench was moving G to lw and allowing Couts to develop. IMO Couturier is the mvp of our team for what he brings game in and game out. Would like to see him get first pp duty instead of second but that may still come this year. |

We will never know but Schenn scored 17 pp goals the year before he was traded and the following year our pp sucked, coincidence I don't know. But I agree that moving him opened the door for others like Couturier, Koncecny, Farabee I wish them all the best and despite my Schenner love I hope Farabee and Frost can both be top six for the next decade and help us win the trade in a landslide. Honest. |

We can but it won't be Luke this time. Unfortunately the Blues would never trade the guy they stole from us, mvp and cup winner Schenn and his new 8 year deal speaks volumes to how bad we got raped. - joegreif17
You've now posted this multiple times. When did Schenn win an MVP award in the NHL? |

For sure his absence was felt, and obviously, it’s working out well for the Blues. I just don’t think us being top tier mediocre rather than bullseye mediocre would have made that rough patch any better for me.

Adding Schenn to this team currently would absolutely make them a better team. Puzzled that you don't think that he would.

I agree, Schenn may have never got any better without the change of scenery. Also your right it is too early for Morin and Hagg comparisons and I hope they never compare. All I care about is our team winning. I live four hours from Vancouver and there is an expensive ferry to cross getting there but I have seen routinely been to Flyers games in Vancouver almost every year for the past 40 years. Some question my loyalty due to what I believe what is constructive criticism but you don't find a bigger Flyer fan. The Flyers have given me so much happiness in my life. |

I have posted this many times too, but I will add it one more time. Schenn was chosen the MVP of his team, the St. Louis Blues in his first year after the trade. He had 70 points including 28 goals, not too shabby. |

Google it . Also Hocky DB can give you all stats within seconds. Every team selects a team mvp, unsung hero etc at year end. This is not something you see in NHL stats but just team recognition of it players at year end. |

Schenn grew as a player after the trade, just like Couturier grew as a player after Schenn’s departure. I have no doubt that Schenn could help this team. I think he’s a better offensive threat than both JvR and Hayes. Schenn is a current assist Captain with the blues. Schenn is also flexible in terms of forward position. Schenn was our best power play point producer in his last season with the Flyers. With Patrick not even on the roster and also not being as good as Schenn, I would suggest Schenn could help us very much right now.
I think Brayden Schenn is undervalued by Flyers fans based on what they saw here, not by what he’s doing right now today. |

Great hypothetical. I'd probably go Subban. As others have said, if the decision were strictly based on what the player brings to the table, then I'd go Weber. But considering the contracts involved, I think I'd go PK if I had to acquire one of them. I get that Weber's deal is much less real money in the later years, and with the cap presumably going up his $7M+ hit wouldn't be as bad a hit, but still. I'd rather pay for just two years of what should be Subban's prime then roll the dice on Weber holding up for another 6 - Big_E_88
If both are healthy hands down Weber. |
