Coyotes... first team in NHL history to win back to back games against the last 2 SC champions... and then lose to the worst team in the NHL for the second time in the same week...

Devan Dubnyk made the game interesting with his poor decision handling the puck and subsequent giveaway that led to the Coyotes first tally of the night.

Yet another reason i cannot stand Goalies coming out of their crease other than to JUST settle the puck... I hate it when Stalock pretends he's a skater and last nights bungle from Dubnyk is on the same level... DON'T JUST THROW THE PUCK AROUND THE BOARDS!!!!!! Had he just left it behind the net and got his ass back to the crease, chances are Wild retain control, or at least get the puck out of harms way...

Goals aside, Fiala looks much more engaged and is going to the dirty parts of the ice and making a difference. Honestly He and Donato looked very noticeable when on the ice last night and really over the last few wins.

2nd period though was very lacking in intensity... Wild looked like they have many times this season like they were just going through the motions.

Wild will play .500 hockey and end up with a mid first round pick and continue to get nowhere, winning is the last thing they should be doing

I only caught a portion of the game last night, but I did see Fiala's goal. That was a nice goal. Like I was hoping, getting that first goal has opened him up to playing a little more loosely and a ton more confidence. Let's hope that the soccer goal by Greenway opens up the gates for him to start getting more points as well. I've really liked what I have been seeing from Greenway this year, just that the points were coming yet. Here's hoping they do now.

And Parise's goal, I am hoping that empty netter he got has him in more confidence as well. Now don't get me wrong, I have no illusions that the Wild are going to be a playoff team this year...but the more these guys score (but still lose the games), the better trade assets they become. Maybe Parise's game will now start working better from 2ft away from the crease instead of just on the edge of the crease.

Iowa notes...what does Mayhew have to do to be recalled. 10 games played, 8 goals, 12 points, a +5 and is a perfect 2 for 2 on shootouts. Oh, and what was that...he's a right handed RW you say? Exactly what the Wild need? 2 more games and the Wild will be at the quarter mark of the season. He should know by then what this roster has and what it lacks. Should be starting in then on what can be done to improve the roster for the future soon afterwards.

I forgot....notes on the goaltending. Gump, I will agree that Dubnyk should NEVER play the puck away from the net, he has just never developed that skill. But I think that that first goal problem can be corrected with a better job of communication on a play like that. To me, it looked like Dumba was set to receive the puck as it was coming around, then DD stopped and reversed it. Dumba should have been yelling to let the puck continue so DD wouldn't stop it. The 2nd goal was DD just being soft. He had position and just let in a soft goal. Thank goodness he isn't the future for the Wild in the nets...just this year and maybe next year. As for down in Iowa, it looks like Robson is outplaying Kaapo to start off the season. Even though Kahkonen has play slightly more (8 games to 6), Robson has had the better stats. And Hunter Jones is off to a decent start on his OHL team with a 13-2-1 record, although the save % and GAA are nothing to write home about.

Couldn't agree more Gus. Mayhew more than proved he was ready to stay up with the big club and from the sounds of it, he hasn't missed a beat down in Iowa.

Although Rask has been a bit more noticeable this season, he's not doing much in the way of positivity, just a body on the ice, and with Foligno out, i'd think that Mayhew would fit in nicely

Why are people not being fired yet? Dead last in the league and we are still going into battle with a bunch of retards... Just sad

TB, I thought that was what you wanted. They current are the worst team in the league with 16 points through 20 games. They are the only team with double digit losses on the road so far (granted, they've played 13 games on the road with only 7 homes games...but look at the Caps, they've played 12 road games and have a record of 10-1-1). I just read an article talking about one of the struggles the Leafs are having is goaltending. Maybe BG can convince Dubas that Dubnyk is best when he is traded.
