Oilers don't have the assets to spare, and don't need to be more top heavy financially. So yeah, sounds like something an NHL team would do. At least Hall gets injured a lot, so there's that in favour of the move as well.
If I'm the Devils, a package for Hall needs to look like this: Nurse OR Bouchard, Yamamoto OR Benson, plus pick(s), and if I'm Edmonton I don't want to pay that price for a rental, maybe not even if Oilers were assured he'd sign an extension. Hall is only going to be given away once, I'm afraid!

Like you say, they would be insane to offer that, so yeah nah.

Lol if hall wants to come back!! Plus they got rid of him cuz he was a cancer in the room. But any trade would have to start with bear and or nurse
I wouldn’t if I were them. They have a lot of nice pieces in their system. Those pieces will start coming in over the next year or two to provide depth and balance to their lineup which they are currently lacking. Furthermore over hall’s nine year career before this year he has only played more than 65 games in three of those seasons. Even if he can stay healthy over the rest of his career at 28 he may not have too many good seasons left considering his body will likely decline faster than average players due to the number of injuries he’s taken. If he’d be willing to take 3/4 years at a decent price I would likely take him but not at the 7 he will probably want.
