A crosbyless Penguins team should not be up this bad, The team really has stopped playing for Babs, It happens, He - Like Torts gets results but can have a short shelf life Wouldn't be surprised to see them move on even though they backed the money trucks up to get him.

As a leaf fan, this team is just baffling. They have stretches where they absolutely manhandle the opposition, then a nothing play from the other team pinballs out of the corner and someone is left completely undefended in the slot to put home a goal. This happens multiple times a game.

They haven't had a full lineup yet, and they wont have a full lineup until 2020 at the earliest, baring any more injuries.

They have Riley playing 3rd most ice time in the league but not practicing due to some mystery injury.

Tyson Barrie is on pace for 19 points. His previous low was 13 in 32 games as a rookie, followed by 38 points. Even if he matched his lowest total, the leafs goal differential would be plus 10 or so.

I feel bad for Kaskisuo. What a poop show to try and play your first ever NHL game.

If they don't turn it around on this upcoming road trip then they gotta pull the plug on Babcock. He clearly has lost the room and can't get the guys to buy into his systems. Look at how terrible the pp has been and yet they just continue to do the same thing every time. It's become so frustrating to watch.

The problem with the Leafs is how they're built.

1. Average goaltending. Leaf fans will tell you how great Andersson is, but the numbers disagree. Imagine if they had Lehner. They would easily be a top 5 team.

2. Unimproved defense. Replacing Barrie with Gardner is an improvement. Replacing Zaitsev with Ceci? Um........

3. Lack of gritty forwards.

Babs will just move up, a new coach is just a matter of time. This year or next.

1. Anderson has been good (0.912 save %) not great so far this year. He was lights out last year. Our backups however haven't won a single game yet 0 wins in 6 starts now. Hutchinson had a 4.44 GAA and 0.870 save %. Win half of those backup goalie games and suddenly the leafs are at 28 points, top of the East (albeit with more games played than the rest of the league). Despite what his stats look like, Anderson has stolen games already this year.

2. Barrie was supposed to be a more offensive Gardiner that was even scarier on the defensive side. He's been the opposite so far.

3. Agreed.

Leafs are playing like a team trying to get their coach fired.

Reminds me a lot of the Pens in the last few weeks of both the Mike Johnson and Michelle Therrien eras.

They should hire James Tanner as head coach. He can wow them with his pie charts and bar graphs

If they want the coach gone, then Tavares needs to go to management and say so.

They can’t fire the players

Lubeass took a very promising young team and crippled it on and off the ice.

They just need to string a couple wins together, and they're back in a playoff spot. It is fun to watch Leafs fans panic though.

I was at the game. there were so many blue jerseys you would have thought it was a home game for the leafs. but they looked disinterested at best. i know that the leafs played last night but so did the pens and they only managed to get 1 goal on the devils. how can the pens play the rangers and devils and collectively earn 1 point but handle the leafs? Makes no sense.

This Leafs team is the greatest team ever assembled in the cap era. They have THREE number one d-men, Matthews, Marner, Tavares. Oh and don't forget Nylander who will win the scoring title this year. Guys like Lou and Holland are dinosaurs. They don't know how to build winners like Dubas who has successfully assembled the greatest team in the cap era!!!

Matthews will be a Coyote. Full no movement clause so no bidding war which means crap return to Leafs. Then Matthews and Kessel hoist the Cup in Arizona.

2 and 3 are right. Anderson however is the only reason this team is even where it is in the standings. Hard to believe, but true

Dubas set the tone for this but getting walked over by the players and has constructed this roster poorly... Babcock has lost the room and seems incapable of coaching the players he has been given..

I think Shanny should pull the plug on both call this season a wash and get ready for next.
