I think Nylander has been one of the Leafs best player this season.

There.

I said it.

- Scabeh

He has.

He is the softest player in the league, but I see more effort out of him than most of the rest of the team.

that's because you like to see the Leafs lose.

I haven't seen last 4-5 games.
before that he was very mediocre - in particular the first 10 games or so.

Yep.

He’s been better defensively 5V5 than Matthews and Marner too.

Fans bust a nut when Matthews or marner make a back check play every 20 games but don’t realize Nylander is the best at it.

I obviously don't watch them as much as you guys do.

But from what I've seen, he's been involved in the play and creating stuff out there.

I see it as him improving if you ask me. Which is a small bright spot for the Leafs these days I guess.

That's . . . . unfortunate. I guess he has a chance to hit 31st with his PK plan now, so you know . . . good for him.

Of note: Florida still has the 4th best powerplay in the league even with Macfarlane gone, so maybe it wasn't all him, but still they should be far more effective than they are.

Head and assistants come and go and the Caps still kill everyone on the PP.

Yeah, cause he has figure skating wussy line mates.

You can't blame lack of heart and effort on guys making many millions less than you.

nice try...but...

- CarlitoBrigante

that first play is pretty funny, Marleau sends the puck up a couple feet when Nylander is not looking and by the time he realizes it the puck slides by him.

a terrible pass helps turn it over

If Babcock is the issue why is Kyle waiting?

No need to revamp the D or get a high draft pick or make changes. Firing Babcock will solve everything. We have the bestest team on paper

- walshyleafsfan

because it isn't Dubas decision... its Shanahan's

and because Dubas knows full well that he himself will be under the microscope - as he should be - the moment Babcock is removed from the picture.

i agree. ive watched almost every leafs game this season. he has been pulling a drouin this year and trying to erase what was said from last year. Drouin is kind of soft too..

i very much dislike nylander.
but there was nothing wrong with that reaction.

- MaximusAurelius

I've always liked Willie, except for his egocentric reactions sometimes. He's shown this ever since junior in Sweden.
oh well, probably just some alpha behavior

2019 Drouin wasn't soft. He was amazing.

Until he got hurt.

So who’s staying up to watch the game tonight?

Future Santo will not be happy to be up at 1AM after a leafs loss

Don't do it Santo.

The team needs to earn your late weeknight loyalty

that's pretty much it.. If/when Babcock gets fired and they still struggle to win games, then all the fingers will be pointed at Dubas.

Nylander has been better defensively, but he's still prone to those "fly-bys" which don't help anyone, well except the opposition.. It helps them, a lot.

TV-pucken is such a great tourney. Probably watched a couple games every year for ~30 years. Still remember the '88 winner with Forsberg and Naslund!

Well LV is a fun arena and team to watch. Should be a good game

The Arizona game probably will be a bit boring. Always is.

Watching a poopty feed and seeing a young Victor Hedman 5 inches taller than everyone else looking awkward as (frank).

now watch him backcheck....
- CarlitoBrigante

problem with this Carlito.. .is that there are NO video clips of him back-checking effectively....

showing up 3 secs after the play only counts for "zone re-entries"

yeah, that's the odd part when the best ~15 y/o meet. There's always a Hedman and a Marner out there. One being 10 inch taller and looking 10 years older!
