Moore has 3 goals this year. "Pretty good" - in any sense (as part of that line or individually) - seems like a bit of a stretch.

I guess it’s a bit of a blanket statement in a way, but I think the Leafs are a result of bad mix overall.

The coach and GM don’t seem like a good mix (style/philosophy/personality) - so GM assembles players that don’t mix well with coach’s system/style/persona. Barrie as good of a talent as he is, doesnt work cause leafs don’t utilize their dmen 5v5 and he’s not put on 1st PP. so he’s used the same way as when he was producing.

The players don’t complement or fit into coaches idea of puck. In attitude (not that it’s bad, just not the same) and style of play. As good as they are they can’t seem to be consistent in play.

Coach that either refuses (nobody really knows) or just can’t adjust his system to fit players.

But the GM is guilty I guess of not getting players to fit coach? (Not sure what the standard understanding is in nhl)

No clue what the fix is but I think blame can be equally distributed, but always gets ‘fixed’ by removing one of the pieces.

Dubas seems to make allot of critical errors. Last year, botching the backup goaltending. He also botched the Nylander contract and got punked. He's traded the last two first rounders. He paid too much to Matthews and Marner, plus botched the length of the deals. Instead of getting a true defensive defender with size, he went with another midget on the back end. No grit, little size and little salary cap leverage. And he wants Babcock to fall on his sword. Dubas is the culprit. He knows talent but doesn't know intangibles. Major fail on Shanahan's watch.

Some of you (frank)ers are on some really good crack. Like super Superior vein popping crack. Even though the leafs record is not up to par. You don't trade young talent just for the sake of it. Your better off shaking things up by firing someone first. Mathews, Marner and Nylander aren't very physical, so (frank)ing what. Its up to management to have the proper supporting cast for these players.
On forward I'd trade Johnson and on Defence I'd trade Barrie. Both are expendable IMO. Johnson has been playing with Matthews and Nylander but has only produced half as much and how the (frank) is Barrie such a negative impact while muzzin who he is paired with is a positive.

That's not that bad of an idea. Barrie likely won't stay here if Babs keeps treating him like a stay-at-home defenseman. Nylander would be s high price to pay but it would be nice to have Anderson and Savard.

Would rather ship Nylander in a package deal to Edmonton for Larrson. Edmonton needs secondary scoring badly and we need a big, stay at home D-man.

They say that’s whats going on in CHI. They’re winning because the coach is letting the players play the way they want, because they were getting sick of him. That’s what Babs should do. He should compromise with them a bit.

But a more serious response...even when they don’t cheat for O, their pretty soft and easy to play against in all zones...except Muzzin.

AM started to pound some guys too last couple, he needs more of that...there’s no reason every guy on the roster shouldn’t finish every check...except against Chara maybe.

well now.. while I agree with the idea that Tim Bits hockey has historically taught stuff like that... "you don't get no ribbons for back-checking"... and there's no donuts on the way home for the guys who do the dirty work... it usually goes to the flamingos who are waiting for the breakout pass at the opposition blue line...

that being said...

there's a lot of Leafs did not play major junior in Canada - where in fact most of the better ones do learn to do some of that stuff...

I think you’re probably right..

But it depends on the next few games. They can’t just keep losing and blow the season.

Leafs need to make a trade, imo.

Barrie makes a lot of sense, he must want out because it’s a contract year. Apparently there’s interest in him.
