Sad part is, many fans will think that is the solution. |

Definitely not a solution, but the Pens have to do something to cushion the loss of Dumo.
Riikola, Johnson and Petterson as the Pens LDs for the next eight weeks simply won’t cut it. |

They could go for the "win every game 7-6" method. Or they could, and I know this is a long shot, offer a league minimum contract to Phaneuf. I know his game was, well, horrible last season. But unless you want to give up assets to find a capable (and available) top-4 LD, you could plop Phaneuf in and see if he can tread water.
Or just call up your best AHL option. |

I'm not really sure our next best AHL option in the LD department. I'd be fine with winning every game 7-6, but with Sid and now Rust potentially out for a bit that's going to be difficult.. that would be easier if we had Hall
I think it's time to attempt to move Galchenyuk for a LD rental. I don't know how possible it is to move injured players, but also look in to moving Bjugstad or Schultz to make all of this happen.
The two targets I'd be looking at is an LD and middle-six center. |

Buffalo is already thin on LD. Maybe you could convince them to take Riikola with Galch? Doesn't make sense to me, but who knows. |

If treading water, a phrase currently popular with those discussing the Pens injury situation, means playing.500 hockey and picking up half the available points, then they will have a chance to make the playoffs. Problem is, as I see it, they won’t be able to tread water with what they currently have to put on the ice. Maybe a trade helps? Maybe one of the goalies plays lights out for a month? Too many maybes and not enough certainty with this group. |

Jonas Brodin is the answer! Go get him JR! If ya wanna dream big make it brodin and zucker. Always liked Brodin as a 4th dman and the cost I couldn’t imagine being that high. |

I honestly think Brodin is overrated. MIN used to boast one heck of a back-end and I think he was really more of a passenger. |

I was shocked to see the Jake Geno Simon line was broken up during practice today. They looked very strong in that back to back.
We can talk about bringing in a D-man to help all we want but the biggest need is quality goaltending. Murray is playing like garbage and who knows what Jarry will do without any puck support in a more demanding role. I have no doubts we survive this stretch and are in a good spot come mid March, but it isn't going to be very fun over the next month. Probably some boring hockey coming up. |

Trade for the Zucker/Brodin combo. Send Galchenyuk/Ruhwedel/Aston-Reese/Pick the other way.
Or go high and try Gaudreau or Hall. “Problem solved!” |

Hornqvist fell in practice today. Being evaluated for lower-body.
Pens Inside Scoop
It's laughable right now
Also this
-Schultz (LB) has been skating and next step will be to join practice. Expected to be soon.
I thought he was out long term? |

Pens gave Noessen an nhl contract and he is reporting to pittsburgh. Explains the Blandisi on waivers move. 14 goals thus far in WBS isn't too bad. |
