If by better you mean Taylor Hall getting trade for a good return and John Hynes getting fired then yes. If you mean the team playing better then hopefully not. Playoffs are gone and even if they miracle their way into it they aren't going anywhere. It's all about the draft... yet again.

Jesper on 1LW, Hall down to 3rd line....

Testing to see if Jesper can handle top spot or showcasing for a trade?

What if:Jesper and + to CGY for Johnny G
Hall to Colorado for Girard, and two 1sts ?

I'm certainly not expecting a playoff run, or even a real push to jeopardize the draft spot, which could luck out anyway, but just something more than this bowl of sewage we have all been watching. Really don't wanna see Hall go, but it is what it is at this point. Coaching...well...yea I can't even argue with anyone about Hynes at this point.

I'm actually a fan of this lineup, at least to try it. Putting Zacha and Boqvist in a good place to succeed.

I think the Hall trade would need to happen first so we could flip one of those firsts in the Gaudreau deal, but this would be pretty cool.

Whatever happens, I just hope we end up with a high end, young Dman.

It's better to mix up the lines rather than doing the same thing over and over expecting better results.

I'm really scared we do change coaches and still suck. Then what?

I like Hall and I'm not angry with him personally. I wouldn't want to commit here if I was him. But I don't want to see him go. Even with Shero's impressive trade record I'm pessimistic we get anything that good in return. Meaning assuming we get a first and a decent (not great) prospect that neither will develop into legit help.

same. it's the most balanced without leaving people out to dry.
coincidentally, we don't have to worry about defensive liabilities without Hughes in the lineup. Hall-Zacha-Bratt seems just fine to me. The Zajac line has been solid enough. Boqvist-Hischier-Palmieri should be good.

Well that isn't surprising. I was hoping he would have a good/better run up there in Montreal. I always liked Kinkaid, he is a nice kid with a good attitude. Seemed like a fun teammate to have. They did one of those intermission stories on him a few years back and he is a Devils fan who grew up idolizing Marty as a kid. His room was like a Brodeur shrine. Can't hate on that as a Devils fan. I was happy he got to start a few here in NJ for a while, but it was obvious he wasn't going to be any kind of longer term answer for us, so I was happy to see someone give him a shot. Hopefully he builds up his confidence again and can at least be a good NHL back-up. I wish him the best.

He was a great guy and it is said but all he was really was one hot streak and the rest of the time he flopped around letting in horrible goals you never felt safe or easy with him in net like any and every shot had a chance to squeek in but I wont deny he seemed like a likeable guy in the room.

As much as the jersey connection is cool i really think adding two pieces like Johnny hockey and Girard make us likely the softest team in the league and likely means 2 less players that arent going to dig for pucks or work to make space for them selves and attack the space. Thats another guy with a rep of vanishing in the play offs.

Im not saying we cant have skilled guys but we kind of already do, we need more backbone but backbone that plays 18 to 20 minutes a night.

A guy who when it looks like there isnt going to be enough time or space they speed up and attack it instead of backing off and thats the biggest thing that Jack needs to over come. He is doing great things from the perimiter but he could do so much more damage if he started taking that open space and starting attacking it. He always seems to be waiting for it and I get it he is 18 playing in the nhl at 160 lbs. I would hesitate at times for sure to but once he really starts attacking with his speed and skill is when he will really take off.

Poor Coleman. Rarely talked about, but one of our most consistent players. I think he would be a perfect guy to trade to Toronto. They are desperate for some size and physicality. He can play in a top 6 role, energy line, pk, shutdown. Regardless he would help them and is very cap friendly. If he could fetch a RW like Kapanen, and free up some of our LW log-jam, I would be happy.

Seriously man why is every one trying to make us even softer. We need more guys with no fear and heart like him not trade those guys away for skillz guys.

The reason we dont win is because we have to many soft skilled guys not because we dont have enough skill.

How much work do any of our players do inside the circles of the o zone ? Everytime I watch its like there is a magic forcefield preventing them from playing inside those circles. Always forced to dipsy doodle around the outside where everything is way less dangerous.

If Hughes could do what he does inside those circles we would win more games but he is forced to skate up get to the blue line stick handle and juke while dishing it either left or right then picking it back up along the boards. He needs to get in those circles to do any real damage and our skill guys dont go there enough because they are timid.
