Pretty funny that now that we found out that his shooting percentage in his first two years was in fact unsustainable, he's a power forward instead of a generational sniper
- jcragcrumple

Now he's a play maker too, that all the sudden his line mates are burying chances.

Wonder if Larsson or Sheary are comparable to Schiefele and Connor

Eichel had 4 goals in his first 25 games last year. They bring Reinhart up to the top line and Eichel starts going off.

It doesn’t really matter who Skinner is playing with his game remains shoot everything at the net.

He was always a big boy who is still a scorer, watch. Jeff Skinner, our supposed sniper only has 3 more goals than him and 13 fewer points.

But dude his expected goals are off the charts.

Im just a galaxy brain for expecting a few more of them to go in the net.

But I remember quite distinctly that he was a one-trick pony, and he could barely do that well, ya know score so now his linemates matter and he can set them up? Reinhart is playing with Jack and 11 assists......

Oh that's it? This is your point?

So when they inevitably do, and we both know they will, are you gonna stand by it? Or pivot to more ridiculous points that everyone with access to google.com can find provably false?

Skinner has played with Sobotka, Mojo, Larsson and Sheary

Laine has wheeler and scheifele.

Are we going to knock him for not getting assists from the goal scoring wizards that are Larsson and Sobotka?

Frankly it's incredible he has 10 goals

And he absolutely still is.

And if you don't wanna take my word for it, just go ask Jet fans

https://www.arcticicehock...hockey-regression-maurice

"Based on the stats alone, Laine is still the player he was last season. What is truly concerning is he seems to have regressed completely from the player he was in his second season. Something happened that led to him regressing a whole lot and not really coming back to that form. He has improved a bit this year, but it is nominal at best."

"Truth is, Laine looks like a good offensive player who cannot drive play for the life of him. His second season hints that there might be something more there, but it has been a year and a bit and we have not seen that player since. So what now? Nothing, but hoping Laine one day gets back to that player he was in his second season and becomes a bigger asset to the Jets."

Blind loyalty and fanatism is necessary to sell tickets I guess the truth is something else. He has never gotten assists or been a playmaker and never will be.

Stevie Y is going to build a juggernaut there just like he did in Tampa. Tank on.

Wonder if the late Mike Ilitch would approve of this approach?

Well the Leafs managed to do it with dignity. Perhaps the Red Wings can as well.

I can go find an article that fits my narrative too and you don't even site the source.

So Laine is a playmaker now? After 26 games. Damn, I would guarantee Sabres fans would be ripping him just as hard as Reinhart if the 2 players were reversed

"Our generational sniper cant even outscore the goal scoring powerhouse that is Sam Reinhart lolololol"

The grass is always greener I guess

You have to pass the puck more then 1 or 2 times a game to get assists, I like Skinner, but even playing with those players you mentioned he still has had plenty of chances, he is what he is a goal scorer and he has been going through a drought right know, all goal scorer's have them, but it's not because he hasn't had his fair share of chances.

Not sure, 15 pts for a 9 million dollar player and many of you are ready to canonize him.

He would undoubtedly have better chances and more of them if he were playing with real 2nd line talent

He played 15 games with Sobotka for christ's sake. I'm pretty sure the Geneva Convention defines that as torture

I agree, we can complain all we want about who he has played with, my point is he has had plenty of chances to bury the biscuit, and he hasn't. There is nothing wrong with wanting more from a player making that kind of money, no matter who he plays with.

If Botterill can get a forward or 2, we can be good *now*

Or we can keep having a 3 year mirage ahead of us

- jcragcrumple

Really? You think jbotts needs a few wingers?

1st I've heard of it? I'd say oloffson and now asplund could help move Casey to a wing spot permanently.

But, go on... and on and on.
Hey okposo and his tradeless contract are back.

What's your feelings on Larsson and girgs?

The funny part about the entire convo is Krueger has said he has Skinner on a different line because he's one of the few who can drive offense and he wants balanced scoring.

If Skinner was so mediocre he'd have what, 5 goals maybe with the 2nd and 3rd liners he's played wth?
