Who does he think he is? PK Subban?
This was good! Made me laugh.
You guys have a great goalie and have been doing great through injuries. The Habs, on the other hand, have struggled big time through injuries.
Looking forward to Crosby's return. Best of luck the rest of the way! |

i didn't think the Penguins played badly or lazily. they just got outworked. that was probably Montreal's best effort of the season. they gave no time or space to Pittsburgh once the Pens crossed center ice. |

Food for thought on Toffoli? My fellow posters here have been talking about him for a week or more haha.
HDSC's last night were 12-6 for the Habs....9-0 in the 2nd. The 2nd period buried them. |

I dont totally agree with that...but even so, if that were true, they could of been enough if not for that horrible 2nd period.
You should go to NST and check out the underlying numbers on the forwards. Might be a little surprised by it. - MattStrat
Yeah I saw that. Chuck’s line was 4-0 in scoring chances but 0-1 in HD. Crazy that they only saw 8 minutes of ES action. Sully double shifted Geno’s line a lot. They ended up with 18 minutes of ES TOI lol.
In the 4 minutes they were together, the McCann, ZAR, Simon line generates a few high danger chances.
The Tanev line was blah last night and he (frank)ed up on that PK not slapping it out and trying to snag the breakaway.
McCann’s line was bad last night until they flipped Kahun and ZAR. That seem to woke them up a little bit. |

I wouldn't be against Toffoli on the Penguins. If they don't like Galchenyuk he'd probably be the best bet to be involved in such a trade. We'd be clearing some cap space (marginally) if this deal went down. |

Two awful bounces. Not really on him he was the high man. If he had have dumped it people would've been on him for blowing a 2 on 1. |

Would a straight up Alex Galchenyk for Tyler Toffoli trade be a good idea? Both players are struggling and it could be one of those "change of scenery" trades. |

I actually would like to see us acquire Toffoli or Pageau (I think he would come here and add an Tanev effect to many lines due to his forechecking ability and his speed).
There is an article talking about the 4 teams who may be interested in Galchenyuk which include: Buffalo, Carolina, LA Kings, and Anaheim.
Anaheim was a team I haven't thought about, but I wouldn't mind a swap of Galchenyuk for Kase. They have similar scoring totals currently. I think Kase could fit in well with the team. I wouldn't mind a Toffoli swap for Galchenyuk, or a Vesey for Galchenyuk trade. I am just hopeful for a swap sooner rather than later. - 123Kid
Any chance you have a link to that article, I'd love to read it.
I don't see why teams going no where like LA would want Galchenyuk, unless it's a throw in to make salaries fit for Toffoli and they feel they can give him more time and flip him later. |

I could have sworn that during the Vegas expansion draft, it was only full NTCs that were auto-protected whereas MNTCs and NMCs were excluded from being auto-protected. Is this not true? Sure, I could google it, but what's the fun in that? - Hockey66
I don't think anyone understood all the rules, so the league just provided a list a year out. I do think with NTCs, so long as you put Vegas on, you're have to go on the protected list. |

They have pretty much the same average numbers for their careers: 0.59PPG and 0.55PPG respectively. Galcheyuk is 25yo and Toffoli 27yo. All in all a fair deal if it went straight up for each other. |

It might be fair, but LA is going nowhere so why get Galchenyuk unless they really wan to test him long-term. Galchenyuk plus a pick I could see and I'd make that trade today. |

I'd have definitely given a least Lafferty some more time, he was real noticable. Galchenyuk was pretty good.
Simon and ZAR together are going to control play, but probably not score. They've become very similar like that.
McCann hasn't been as noticable lately. I wonder if with Marino playing with Letang he's suffering from not getting time with a defenseman who can tilt play. I'd like to get them back to different units. I don't think Sully will though because it would drop Schultz to 3rd pair. |

Yeah I know. That’s a damned if ya do and damned if ya don’t. Thems the breaks sometimes. I don’t mind PKers trying to take chances so even though he bobbled it, I don’t really care, he’s got the speed to turn that into a scoring opportunity haha |

If they are not happy with Toffoli this trade makes A LOT of sense. Galchenyuk is on an expiring deal as well and is only 25. |

Makes zero sense. They would be moving Toffoli for futures like all rebuilding teams do when trading away rentals. |

Sure. That’s why they hold onto rentals until they have limited value. Or that’s why they go on moronic shock jock radio shows and kill any value of their players by suggesting they won’t make the lineup when everyone is healthy. |

Given where LA is at right now, they'd probably want a pick or prospect included. |
