Hm. Not saying he shouldn’t get suspended, but man I’ve seen much worse get less. He’s fresh into the league, too. Not like the guy is a goon or anything. Seems a little quirky to get 3, but okay then.

3 days for a rookie that's a first time offender seems a bit harsh. We have seen other hits throughout the league that were just as bad, if not worse and they didn't get a 3 day hit.

It was a stupid, selfish hit. I don't think it was worthy of 3 games (see James Neal in 2012 get nothing for worse), but if he didn't make a stupid play, there wouldn't be any discussion.

He needs to get back to his offensive game and not worry about being a fighter/avenger.

Or if the Ref simply called the cross-check Farabee took in the back none of this happens. Not excusing Farabee because what he did was dumb, but it's inexcusable for the refs not to call a blatant cross check to a defenseless player. Crosscheck was practically the same as Bortuzzo's (the first one) against STL earlier in the year.

I'm pretty sure they just spin the "supplementary Discipline Wheel" whenever a review is required. Where it lands is where it lands. The thought process doesn't appear any more in depth than that.

I have to admit that it is surprising to see the NHL give more than two games to a first time offender (as far as I know he is first time), especially since the hit probably actually warranted 1-2 games.

Last month Cernak just got two games for his dirtier and much more brutal elbowing of Dahlin.

one game would have been plenty for how long he's been in the league. by suspending him for three games, the league is obviously trying to set an example here, and if that's the case, they need to start being more thorough in their evaluations and start suspending other players guilty of similar offences more harshly.

3 games is ridiculous! Just once I’d like to see an aging vet get a suspension, Ask for a commissioners hearing, and then promptly punch Bettman in the mouth. What could they possibly do if he’s on his way out of the league anyway? Some people just need this every know then to adjust a sh!tty attitude. I’d laugh my a$$ off!!😂

Too many. Cernak only got 2 for a bad elbow right to Dahlin's dome. This is worthy of a game at most, really just a major, and whatever else, I can't recall offhand if you get a mandatory game misconduct for an interference major, and I can't be bothered to look it up.
