It shouldn’t even be a decision.

Ristolainen isn’t someone we can afford to give a giant contract to in two years, Montour they have team control over

- sbroads24

It would seem blatantly obvious that Montour is who Botterill prefers with his style of play and what he gave up for him, but who knows.

Botterill is the kind of golfer that would be on the clock after the first hole due to painfully slow play.

Apparently that didn't go over very well for the 11 year veteran who had never been a healthy scratch before. He and his agent immediately asked for a trade. If there's one thing that all of Sabreland can agree upon, it's that general manager Jason Botterill should grant his wish as soon as possible.

Setting aside the trade request, Bogo should never see the ice anyway. His hips are clearly shot. He got absolutely walked on the 2nd goal against the Senators. That should serve as the final time Miller is scratched in favor of Bogo. He's just awful. If he wants to complain then just waive him

In October when he was playing every game, he was a +3 with 4 points in 13 games. Since he started getting scratched he's -9 with 2 points in november and December. He can't get in a rhythm.

Coming in and out of the lineup has screwed him up. Another side effect of the roster construction

Totally agree on the Miller assessment.

I made a similar point a while ago.

When people wanted to trade the Nylander pick for Cam Fowler.

Top picks retain value for a long time.

- sbroads24

To be fair, that trade kind of feels like a miracle and not something to bank on consistently taking place going forward?

That said, I'm sure Honka will be the next addition 😅😂

Well when you’re asked to have a different partner on each occasion while playing LD instead of your natural position, I think that tends to have an effect

The Blackhawks are a CBA joke.

Seabrook after being a “healthy” scratch is undergoing surgery to end this season, and when he’s recovered he’s having hip surgery so he’s not playing next season.

So they can LTIR his ridiculous cap hit for 2 years.

What a joke

It's ammo for those that say don't worry too much about the cap when it comes to paying good players.

I don't see how the Sabres' situation with Berglund is any less of a circumvention.

People have been doing creative things with money since currency was a thing. I always found the notion that sports would be any different quite funny.

We were lead to believe something similar with Bogosian, but nope, had to get him back in the lineup.

The CBA always seems to work out for them.

Hossa, Seabrook, among others I am sure.

Both teams decided to take on bad contracts. You can't say one team should have to live with it but the other one shouldn't. In fact, with the Sabres, it's worse, because Berglund was voluntary.

That said, your previous post was correct. The Sabres absolutely should have shelved Bogosian in the same manner.

Calvin de Haan (shoulder) will miss the remainder of the 2019-20 season following shoulder on his right shoulder.
De Haan has been sidelined since Dec. 10 due to a shoulder injury. He underwent surgery on the same shoulder during the off-season. In 29 games this campaign, de Haan had one goal, five assists, 42 shots and a plus-10 rating. He has been moved to long-term injured reserve by Chicago.

Berglund quit and chose to forego the money on his contract.

Seabrook will get paid the entirety of his contract, not count against the cap and will pretend to still be an NHL player for the sake of the club and his bank account

Team USA chose "Shout!" as their goal song. Shouldn't they have done that in Buffalo?
