Spot on!

All the cap has done is to bring mediocrity disguised as parity. I wish the NHL had gone with the NBAs model which would have allowed teams to exceed the cap when re-signing their own players.

This era sucks

The real culprit - The rules have forced every team to adopt the same style of play. It started in 2005, but the league renewed its efforts this past decade.

Great article!

It’s hard for me to separate how much the decade has sucked with how much my team has sucked; but clearly I won’t be looking back fondly on this era.

I personally believe the long term contracts has had a detrimental affect on the sport.
