Did Gus train with Keith this offseason? I don't mean this because he improved his defense, but because his shot is always getting blocked or missing the net. |

Just messing with you, wonthecup. - mohel
I’m selfish I want them all. On another note, when Saad and Strome come back and hopefully that is within the next few days, Sikura and Nylander should stay on the train right back to Rockford.
I bet that is exactly what Colliton wants to do with Nylander , but he is being met with resistance from his boss. I think that is the exact kick in the ass that kid needs right now. He could either take it one of two ways,Go down and pout, or go down and work his ass off and get back here. Kind of like with what Ian Happ did for the Cubs last summer. But my guess is he’ll take the first option because he looks like a little spoiled female dog ass.
Now I’ll accuse myself of maybe pouring a glass of hawk Kool-Aid tonight, I would love to see these guys run the table on the Canadian tour, and then come home and beat Winnipeg & Florida and then ride a good winning streak in to the All-Star break. |

Lehner on Kubalik: "He's a hell of a hockey player."
"[In] camp, I didn't really know who he was."
"But I would say he has the best shot on our team. Kaner's obviously accurate, stuff like that. But in practice, it's incredibly hard to stop his shot."

I don’t get it, with a daddy that was in the National Hockey League and a brother ,you think he would be working that much harder to assert himself already on his second national hockey league team. Unless the kid just wants to go back overseas play about 40 games a year and be on his phone the rest of the time. I would love to see him get going to because we could sure use his potential.
I think Patrick Sharp said it best in the post game interview the way this team needs to play now is what he called sneaky and boring, but they have to start better and quit falling behind the first 10 minutes of the game.
Maybe I am wishing in one hand and crapping in the other here to see which one fills up first but it sure would be nice to wake up next Wednesday morning with 10 more points and be going into the All-Star break with 58 points. Repeating would love to see them run the table and surprise a few of these teams in the next week. |

I am more concerned JC keeps playing Gusto 18 minutes a game. He should of sat so long after the 2 Sens goals that his ass would get splinters

I watched the Yotes. How would you compare Oesterle and K4. Orsterle playing on the 3rd pair for the yotes. Probably Oesterle more offensive. K4 more responsible defensively. But overall both could be ok 3rd pair or 7th Dmen. |

Bowman stole Kubalik for a 5th round pick - Elbows15
Did Stan really need to make that trade on January 24, 2019? If he waited a few weeks he could have got Kubalik for a conditional 7th or even 'future considerations'. This trade should be viewed as a failure. |

Who says it isn't? A fifth was an extreme overpay by little lord Stanley. The Kings probably use that pick to draft the next Crosby! |

Captain my captain .Great game by Toews . Kubilk is gold Gerry Gold - oldduffman
How much term and $$ will Kubalik get on his next deal. Unless I’m mistaken, Kubalik would be an RFA after 2 more years and a UFA after 3. So I would expect a 1-2 year deal before committing so a more lucrative contract.
Maybe 2 years around $2.5 - $3.0 AAV?
Who am I kidding, Stan will use Kubalik as a sweetener to unload Maatta this summer. |

good bye holtby...
teams must be betting that rules will change with the cba allowing for more flexibility with getting rid of bad contracts with aging players...
congrats backstrom...good luck washington...dumb and dumber - bogiedoc
I also think teams (or most anyway) do NOT want huge money tied up in their goalie. Too much uncertainty. They see the Bobrovsky and Price deals and makes them think (rightly, IMO) that better off with mid cost goalies or two lower cost guys. Holby is looking at his last and biggest chance to strike it rich. He will be looking for term...and $$$. If he wants 8-9 million per year on a 6-7 year deal...would YOU want to do that? I sure wouldn't. I would let him test FA, then see what he wants to stay a Cap...if too much. bye-bye.... |

The Athletic ranking the top 72 prospects in the league. Chicago has 1 (one!) all the way down at #58 and it's a guy who never sign with the team - Ian Mitchell. This organization is a joke. |

Nice 2 points. Against a bottom dweller. But, we are bottom dwelling as well, so I guess a good win.
I really doubt the 2 points matter, as we will finish 11th-14th in the west regardless. The bigger issue is.....we MUST beat the Habs tonight. I dislike them greatly. For 40+ years they have been my LEAST favorite team in the NHL and it makes me sick when we lose to them. We have been super successful the last 7-8 years....so I hope we have another win in store tonight. Don't care if we lose the next 5 after. Win tonight boys!!!!!
EDIT: Looked it up. During the last decade....11-4 vs Habs. 3 Cups us, 0 them! Been a great decade for our Hawks. Let's start this decade with a "W"... |

Could that be because our two best prospects are already in NHL, rather than in juniors/AHL like they might be on most better teams? |
